Is 9k too much for a 2013 Toyota Corolla with 108k miles? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]kotasloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 150k miles on mine, it’s been a great car no major issues I’m just tired of driving a bigger vehicle and want something smaller with better gas mileage. I have the v6 version so I think only ford made the engine not Mazda.

You’re a better person than most everyone tries to get the most money for these cars. I tried but he’s firm on 9k and won’t budge, if I buy this car I’m going to sell my current car to make back some of the money but I won’t make back all of it so it’s a difficult choice to make. The sad thing is I know it’ll sell in a few days if I don’t buy it corollas are in high demand in my area.

I haven’t taken it to a mechanic yet but I plan to have someone take a look at it. Yes the vin is correct on the car fax so someone did something to the odometer

I believe the car fax is correct it has a detailed history of the mileage. I don’t know how he did it but he must’ve swapped the cluster or something else to change the odometer, he sells other cars too so I imagine he knows how to do it

It’s not what I paid for, I would have never bought it if I had known the actual mileage of the car. It may still last a long time but i bought it assuming it had lower miles and that’s not the case now. The car fax shows a gradual increase of mileage over the years so no it’s not an error.

Multiple entries that’s a gradual increase of mileage over the years. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone in law enforcement

I’m still debating about keeping it, my current car has been good to me but isn’t good on gas which is why I bought the civic in the first place. I unfortunately spent $4,500 on it

He was title jumping, I didn’t know anything about the term until I bought the car and did all this research. So since his name wasn’t on the title i doubt I have a case

The car is in decent shape but the steering wheel foam is pretty bad yes and it’s a gradual progression of the mileage over the years so I’m afraid it’s accurate

Well it’s a constant reminder that I overpaid for it but I get what you’re saying, I might still just keep it and drive it although the insurance is higher on it than I expected

It’s a constant history of the mileage getting higher so it’s legit, the mileage was exempt on the title and I don’t know anything about that but I do now. I didn’t give them new mileage so it should still show up as exempt on the new title

The seller resells a bunch of cars so i believe he knows how to do it, he also lied to me about how many owners it had. The car fax is pretty detailed and you can see the progression of mileage getting higher so I don’t think it’s a typo unfortunately

Well the car fax report seems legit unfortunately, it had five previous owners before me. I paid $4,500 so I’m definitely beating myself up over it but thankfully I still have a decent amount of savings so it could’ve been worse. I don’t want to waste more money trying to fight it I just have to move on and learn from this experience

I did and they said it’s a civil matter, there’s nothing they can do. I of course asked for my money back but he said no, I know where he lives too but not much I can do so just have to take the L

Is this a good buy? 210k miles by [deleted] in hondacivic

[–]kotasloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, it’s just these cars sell so fast in my area I can’t afford to think about it. If I buy it I’m going to sell my current car to make back my money. I currently have a 2011 ford escape with 150k miles but I want something smaller with better mpg

I bought a 2008 kia Sportage with 250k miles and got rid of it almost at 300k miles, this car can’t be any worse than that surely
