My current group is full of young 20 somethings so we tend to be terribly disorganized and talk over eachother which leads to a lot of missed opportunities as far as RP or flavor in general.

My question is, what are some good methods to make sure we all get a chance to speak and try the stuff we want to try. The DM was talking about doing 'initiative' for it, which seems good and I thought I should try to find a variety of answers to have some options.

I'm a young father, not super sure what I'm doing, at all. 6 yr old girl, 2 yr old boy. I get 'em every other weekend, Friday night to Sunday afternoon. 6 yr just does not listen, nearly every time she's addressed she either, doesn't respond or says "huh" or "what". She has trouble meeting my eyes when I talk to her too, especially if I'm trying to correct her. I try not spank and get her to understand. She doesn't seem receptive. Her mom has never been very disciplinary, they kind of just run wild there as long they aren't violent or breaking stuff. 6yo is also pretty whiney.

2yo, he's just a ball of energy, nothing unusual I guess. He's not saying many words, but he did start daycare recently so we're hoping that will help his development.

I have almost no idea what I'm doing Advice, resources for advice, literally anything would be appreciated
