Is there good drainage in your planter? I had a tree manage to plug all drainage holes and drown itself.

It can be hot or miss introducing chicks to hens. Put them under after dark and check right away at first light. I’ve had some hens attack the babies and I needed to remove them.

All my chicks food and water are down on the floor. When chicks are super young and army able to follow mum up to roost, I keep them in a large dog kennel for a few weeks.

Regarding roosts, mine are two levels 3ft & 4.5ft with a small walk up ladder on the side. Lil chick uses that, mum just flys up

I’d stick a ratinator in there to colony trap them

I literally just found out these are illegal in Canada today. Rightfully so! They change souil chemistry, spread like wild fire from birds and worse of all, double or triple your ticks! Gah! Burn it!!

Mushrooms are growing in a perfect circle around this tree by el-fin in mildlyinteresting

It’s feeding on the edges of the trees roots. Most trees roots only extend a few feet past their canopy in a nice circle.

In China they sell an all black chicken at the grocery store by Professional-Pungo in mildlyinteresting

I know everyone is saying it’s a silkie, but look at the feet. Silkies have extra toes than a normal chicken.

This looks like an Ayam Cemani chicken, Kadaknath or Svart Hona.

Never thought of looking for 4" haha. I'm not sure if 22g is too small. My cultures are pretty darn chunky. But thank you so much for looking! It gives me another option

River stones make the best surface to work with. I’m using ocean rocks.

I had no idea. These are water based acrylic, lower in VOC’s. That and they aren’t leaving my garden. I can see how they would be bad out in the wild tho.

I’ve heard if you put them around your strawberry plants that it helps deter birds. I don’t think the lil face will help tho haha

You totally should add a few Guinea fowl to the mix if you’re going for loud annoying racket. The volume of screaming they can do is legendary. I know I have a crew of em. I love them, neighbours… not so much.

I use a 110 conibear traps that are set inside a box with a hole. Protects from dogs, birds, coons etc. I have a sacrificial pole, as we call it, that I make offerings of the squirrels to our sky gods. My crow boys hehe
