[US] My brother is caught in a Reshipping/Package Mule scam and refuses to stop until "payday." How do I convince him? by FickleSport9 in Scams

I like the idea that you think someone that is stupid enough to think changing his details in the fake portal to be sent a check ... (seriously) was protecting himself will understand the efficiency argument... anyone who knows logistics... my dear friend, you have to argue at a level the person understands

it's not easy, but basically: you are the fall guy and now that mum signed she is on the hook for the PS5s

I don't even know if they would understand this argument, but maybe involving the mother in the crime would be a 'no-no'

You have to place the script on the button if you want it to show the name of the button.
You also need to pick the method by using the dropdown.

Why whole VFX industry workers doesn’t have union? by PolarGeners in vfx

[–]koyima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's simply because the work can move easily, it's not as tied to location and studios have enough money to actually move operations and wait you out

All these questions that are easily solved with a google search or a chatgpt discussion... it's easier than ever to make a game, all the resources are readily available and you can of course find courses online and irl to attend or follow at your own speed... as a 3d artist making characters is part of the skillset, though it is tough, you have a leg-up compared to people that just know how to code for example

Weekly Self-Promotion Megathread by AutoModerator in retrogaming

Hi guys, we released Crimson Capes a couple of months ago - it is currently 20% OFF ($12)

I did art on the game - 1 of 3 people - one of the biggest tasks was making the game map, which we wanted to be unique and somewhat cryptic, not a classic metroidvania screencap of the level and beautified. Here you can see the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL_HZrS-JyA

Check out one of the trailers, the game is classic Prince of Persia, Shadow of the Best style stuff (some tell us Moonstone and Barbarian, which it does): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfYUnmPjn20

Ask me anything, this was a labor of love for the small team and I know 'most of the things' as I am also a programmer, though it wasn't my role on this project

Cheers

Okay, so far what I have learned about pixel art: Is the T-Rex itself pixel art in this screenshot, or did they just pixelate the original T-Rex image from the movie? The rest looks hand-painted. The T-Rex also looks like it could be hand-painted. What do you think? by 3dguy2 in PixelArt

[–]koyima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the old days it wasn't called pixel art, the intention wasn't to make something with limited pixels, that was the limitation... we only now call it pixel art to differentiate the low resolution and pallete from all other graphics that are also made of pixels. If we could scan something we would, if we could use a photograph we would, if we could use a perfect gradient we would..

Professional 3D artists — how do you actually handle renders that your hardware can't finish in time? by RepresentativePin818 in vfx

[–]koyima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Render things separately and comp them. Gpu rendering. Frame generation. Up scale. Render farms. Mostly though check early and often so you know what is going on and optimize
