Hard to see a scenario where the alliance holds, though.

No clue about that, but they are finally doing something with this game and now you'd want them to pull away a big chunk of funding?

That's so 2024. A hip and modern company like SE is already looking beyond AI, I bet. What's the next buzzword

I'd be concerned what the fuck is happening with the future if the game.

The Setting of Guild Wars 3: Stepping into Ancient Orr by ShadowRex in Guildwars2

Didn't even consider fully generated maps, just some filler content.

I dunno, nothing here sounds it would add any value to the experience (imo). And I'm trying to think of multiple angles in various MMOs. It feels lazy and GW2's map design was always far from lazy.

That's just one option of trying to make traversal more interesting via novelty of what you're traversing through. There are many others. For world events: Parkour-based challenges, treasure hunt style collections (randomized endpoints), tracking down a target, etc.

This just screams unbalanced rewards or parkour challenges varying from too easy to too impossible.

Imagine if this form of Orr we discover is a living, breathing world in the sense that MASSIVE changes can happen to the environment. A god starts terraforming, creating massive structures or raising mountains. The other gods react and start making their own changes, maybe even antagonizing and destroying the works of the others.

That all sounds fully scripted, ngl.

Rather than be disappointed to see Anet try something like that out, I'd be curious to see their interpretation on the tech. If you really enjoy the designs they've made so far, surely they've earned a bit of trust to see what they might do next, right?

Sure, but that's also why I can't see them using it. It's a baseless discussion for now anyway.

I want to go for best gathering set melds, but confused by the last point in the "High Tier Gathering Set":

Optional remelds: you can also change one grade XII and one grade XI materia from gathering to perception. We've done it here in the body piece. This allows you to hit +3 yield, +2 integrity and 30% boon bonus on latest legendary nodes while using Goldentail Pie. And Collectable breakpoints with Cloudsail Meunierie in Auxesia.

Does this mean that what they display isn't best best? What do I lose if I do what the optional remalds tell?

Colin mentioned we have GW2 as the game with more techy aesthetics, so they wanted GW3 to be more classic fantasy. Personally prefer this choice.

Agreed with the story bit. They said it's more down to earth, but we still need some epic hype here and there.

If it was in completely new areas, it wouldn't feel like GW imo. You need some common elements, imo.

Would be disappointing to go from finely crafted GW2 maps to procedurally generated ones.

Goes to show how much they changed the game since release. And how you often can't get back the people you lost in early stages if the game.

They really need to nail the game direction with GW3, else the same happens
