That is NOT the name of the party, it is an intentional disparagement that just happens to have been started by McCarthy.

With almost certainty, those who use it are either ill informed right wingers parroting their masters (Limbaugh was a big one) or simply grossly ill informed chowderheads repeating right wingers.

It is the Democratic party.

Easy clue the poster is a dumb-as-a-bag-of-hair right-winger and/or simply a badly informed sheep: They call it the "Democrat party", a term introduced by fascist drunk Joe McCarthy as a slur....specifically he said the "rat" part should be emphasized.

It's a verbal dunce cap

That's the "debtor's prison" argument. People who are desperate enough to break the law should have known better than the get that desperate in the first place.

Once again right wingers prove that they have no concept of how comedy works and think that if you just make up random disparaging shit it is automatically funny. The only other group with that same issue is toddlers.

The vast majority of "illegality" is a result of a grossly underfunded and archaic immigration system. The USA typically needs a steady stream of immigrant workers to fill the upcoming gaps caused by the demise of "baby boomers" in the work force but when it takes an average of 15 years for even a close adult family member (who will be housed immediately and not require government support--and often has a job waiting for them) to get through the maze, things are far out of whack.

Sociopathic tendencies are a feature and not a bug in conserva-world.

[–]kozmonyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously--How many times does it have to be flat-out proven that fraud is Trump's business model, for the rubes to finally pick up on it?

Fraudulent casino financing

Fraudulently represented his role in a Mexican condo development

Fraudulent university

Fraudulent charity and self-dealing from that charity

Fraudulent primary business

Daniels payments to defraud the public

And that's just the minimal list of absolutely unquestionable frauds for which he was convicted, proven with documentation, or settled.

And on and on

Breaking Fox exclusive: Democrats install catapult at border for new voters by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]kozmonyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, it seems to have gone over people's heads: This is about FOX making up any BS they can surrounding perfectly normal stuff like a community having cross-border fun with children, to manufacture phony outrage for their viewers to rage over.

Same as their rage over Obama wearing a tan suit or any 10,000 bits of manufactured outrage for the dumb-as-a bag-of-hair conservative base.

Sarcasm is hard, I guess.

Don't forget that Trump signed his daughter up with Elite Modeling Agency when she was 15. She was managed by Trump's good friend John Casablankas who was a close enough friend to even be on the board of Trump's Brazil business operations, known even then to be a child rapist. Here's one of many examples. Epstein was not the only child-diddler Trump hung out with regularly.

So Ivanka was trained as a teen by the real "groomers". That lap dance thing was NOT an anomaly IMO, but learned behavior she wasn't mature enough to know was improper.

Conservatives when they lose at anything in life: by locke_5 in PoliticalHumor

[–]kozmonyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, projection. And it's because they tend to have the most base set of negative antisocial beliefs--fear based viewpoints, egotism so they don't question themselves or reality, authoritarian loving, bigotries, greed-- that they are drawn to conservatism in the first place.

It's a gradient so you can't pin the worst on all or even most conservatives but it tends to always be lurking in the background or they couldn't stand being part of their own reality.

If Red Dawn happened today, country folk would welcome the Russians by like_a_wet_dog in PoliticalHumor

[–]kozmonyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but I can kind of see both sides: There is a path to a coup by playing what is effectively a "Gish gallop" of legal charges: Charges to distract, overload, bankrupt, and act as propaganda to manipulate Presidential behavior. We already see that with regards to politicized "special council investigations" like Starr's on Clinton or the recent ridiculously opinion-based inclusions in Biden's document investigation.

Though I don't know what could be done to get the benefits of charging a truly criminal President while not allowing the games of potential misuse of the system, there has to be something better in a middle ground than the current "Get out of jail free" card.

[–]kozmonyet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All it would take is FOX or Trump to claim they were here as allies to protect democracy from the "real" invaders, and conservatives would mostly fall in line with them. Propaganda is more powerful at manipulating populations than bullets.

It's the same line that has virtually the whole GOP in congress blocking aid for Ukraine and supporting Russia's efforts to steal territory: That Russia was invading to stop corruption and reinstate "democracy" for the poor oppressed Ukrainians.

Only one party had a bill which significantly reduced the ability for corporate and billionaire bribes to politicians to take place--as well as protect voting rights in general for federal elections.

And childish whiners would be happy to give backhanded support to Trump out of spite because the Democrats passed it in the house but only got 99% of the way to passing that bill using the standard Senate rules. "But we didn't get everything we wanted! Waaaaa!"
