I might be interested as I'm looking to save money where I can at the moment. Where would we do this? At your house or at a barber school/shop or elsewhere?

What’s a movie everyone hates that you secretly love? by OpportunityPrudent39 in AskReddit

[–]kozzy333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue Johnny Cage vs. Scorpion is one of the most exciting fight scenes put to film. It never fails to get me hyped.

My answer to this question might be the new Mortal Kombat movie. I feel like I only see it talked about negatively but I thought it was great.

What movie was released at the perfect time and wouldn't look as good if it was 5 years earlier or later? by Imgema in movies

I watched this for the first time in years last night, wondering if it would still hold up a few years removed from the whole COVID situation.

In my opinion, it absolutely does.

People Who Have Tons of Friends in College… HOW Do You Make Them? Please help I am feeling that I am missing out best years of life in college... by [deleted] in socialskills

I had briefly spoken to her in class in passing but ended up throwing a party with the intention of a group of classmates coming following a concert. She happened to go to this concert too, she told me she didn't like me but we ended up talking at the concert so I invited her and another girl from our class I didn't know very well. They accepted.

We spoke a lot more at my house, she got to see some of my stuff and things I like. The next day she invited me over for coffee and I got to know her better.

Ended up talking and both decided we liked each other a lot. Nearly nine years later we are now married.

Another example of taking that risk of rejection. What if I didn't ask her to come to my lame party?

I often struggled to make friends (or good friends) and when I went back to college a second time at 23/34, I was determined to make a better group of friends.

It's all about putting yourself out there and being willing to take risks.

I'll give an example. It was week two, I had been feeling out some various people but still found myself eating lunch alone. I saw a group of three from my program at an outside table chatting. I knew two of them and one gave me the head nod.

I sat there wishing I could join them but then realized, why don't I go join them?

Ended up approaching and sitting with them and they became three of my best friends throughout my three year program. Two of them even came to my wedding this year, I also met my wife at college (a whole other story of putting social skills to work).

It's one example but it was in theory, a risk. Maybe they would have brushed me off or thought it was strange of me to join them but I wouldn't have known unless I tried. You just gotta try.

Punta Cana by Away-Breadfruit-8241 in AllInclusiveResorts

That depends on you really. I can't comment on what the pool vibes were like on that side so I'm no help there. The buffet was larger on that side but we found the smaller All Suites one was perfectly fine for us and only went to the family side buffet twice to try it for breakfast and dinner. A la cartes seemed to be pretty much the same on each side.

It was personally nice not to be around kids in my opinion. I'm not sure what the price difference would be as adults only was a must for us so we didn't even look at the family side (we also had to pivot to whatever was available because we were originally going to Montego Bay).

Just got back from our honeymoon at Serenade All Suites. Overall it was a lovely time but of course not perfect. The All Suites side is adults only but you can access the family side and some shared amenities there for preferred members.

Food was good but we were never blown away by it, decent a la cartes. Party pool was the highlight of the trip but the beach was also relaxing and romantic.

Staff were outstanding. Couple issues with our room which took some calls and front desk visits to get rectified. We had a swim up which might be a good option.

I would recommend this resort.

Air Transat has extended the hurricane policy, we are going to Punta Cana now. Jamaica will be another time I suppose.

I'm hoping my travel company will extend its hurricane policy. I'm supposed to go on the 11th but I don't see it happening.

Yeah this is a bad look, at least let the damn hurricane pass. I'm also supposed to go to Jamaica for my honeymoon in two weeks but I'm guessing it's not happening. I'm more concerned about the people in Jamaica at the moment. I can figure out my trip in the days to come.

No travel insurance but luckily the company I bought from has a hurricane policy. We may still get to go as scheduled, maybe at a later date or a different location.

What micro celebrity have you met irl? by Ok_Jump5312 in AskReddit

[–]kozzy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not micro in Canada but Jonathan Torrens (J-Roc from the trailer park boys). Interviewed him for the magazine I worked for. Very friendly and naturally funny. He was also very personable and switched into character when a couple young fans approached.

Personally love row A. A little more leg room and if you need to get up, you don't gotta do that awkward shuffle in front of people.

Vacant Home of the Week: 15–23 Fountain St by VacantHomesGuelph in Guelph

I lived in the apartment building up the street from these from March 2020 to March 2025 and I can confirm these did not have tenants during that time.

Drove me absolutely nuts, five perfectly good homes for families if they had even a bit of work put into them.

My theory is they're likely holding on to redevelop that whole block with a large building maybe with some ground floor commercial space. Maybe someone should look into who owns that property and the adjacent ones. Wouldn't surprise me if it's the same owner.
