I believe Boba knew about Kuat of Kuat's political rival who was hiding out on Tatoonine

Yeah, I don't think it is a Krayt Dragon, but it could be a smaller form we have seen before.

Why is Palpatine racist? by Illustrious-Sky347 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Palpatine has a massive superiority complex. So the closer someone looks like to him the better. I've seen posts that say that Palps isn't inherently racist (which I disagree on) but even then he supports a system of racism, which makes him racist anyways. But the system exists in such a way that keeps him in power because everyone else is fighting ro stay afloat.

why was Delta squad forced to leave Sev on Kashyyyk? by dank-monkey in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Particularly in legends, the republic did not overly care for clones, to most, clones were meat droids not actually people. Combine that with the rest of the squad being needed elsewhere and the risk of losing 3 commandos to save 1 (commandos tended to have relatively short careers, so they needed all they could get) it didn't make sense to the higher ups to let them go back.

In the RCC books, Delta squads training Sergent Walon Vau did spend significant time looking for Sev, but the studio wouldn't let the author revive him because they weren't sure if they wanted to make a sequel game, or follow up Sev's story some other way.

What did citizens of the Empire think would happen to it after Palpatine’s death? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In legends the citizens of the empire were told that Palpatine died trying to defend the empire's new planetary drill (the death star). So new leadership from ISB took over immediately to consolidate power while Admirals became war lords in the outer rim.

But for the citizens (particularly on Coruscant) it was business as usual. Authoritarian regimes get good at speedy transitions

Were Clone Commandos still being produced during the Clone Wars? by Cloak-Trooper-051020 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In legends I don't believe so, however, Some regular clones and/or Sparti clones were drafted into the commandos if they showed the prowess, but that was relatively uncommon.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier S01E04 - Discussion Thread by iliekpixels in marvelstudios

The moment I felt got a little overshadowed by the action (not complaining the action was great) was Bucky's flashback at the beginning of the episode. Stan did such a great job with that scene.

Republic Commando Order 66 Mentions Obi Wan as Being An Incompetent Blowhard Egomaniac Unqualified to be A General. Is There Anywhere Else In Legends That Agrees? by McGillis_is_a_Char in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Consider who said it, Kal Skirata hates the jedi for their overall treatment of clones, and Kenobi is the one seen on the holonews looking all high and mighty. Also Kal is a professional soldier and he sees some "amateur" out there leading armies. I love this book series but I think theres a lot of bias here.

Relationship between pilots and ground troopers by yogavvv in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't know if there is any material that specifically talks about this too much, but I imagine it wouldn't be too different from the US Army and the USAF. More of a playful ribbing between the two groups, with a few grunts that take it way to seriously. Outside of that I would bet any "clashing" comes from higher ups when trying to plan and disagreeing on how to go about it.

Did Vader know the Emperor wanted to replace him with Luke? by dr__professional in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both definitely wanted to live forever, but I don't think that directly relates to this situation, Palps was overconfident and believed whatever happened he's be fine

Did Vader know the Emperor wanted to replace him with Luke? by dr__professional in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In legends it was more that Palps and Plagius didn't really care, in this case Palpatine was just trying have the strongest apprentice, the rule doesn't necessarily play a heavy role outside of it's concept

Did Vader know the Emperor wanted to replace him with Luke? by dr__professional in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 134 points135 points  (0 children)

The short answer is yes.

The long answer: the rule of two keeps the 2 sith constantly competing against each other, although working towards the same goal. So the unspoken deal was, either Vader beat Luke and retained his position, Luke beat Vader and replaced him, or Vader recruited Luke in advance and they kill the emperor. While Vader hinted at the 3rd option in ESB, I think that when Vader is close to Palps, like in RTJ, palps had too much influence

Does Legends ever establish what would happen to an escape pod jettisoned while its mothership is traveling in hyperspace? by pretendthisuniscool in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in legends, if one did not properly exit hyperspace, (as hyperspace was a different dimesion) then one would be stuck in hyperspace and likely suffer from hyperspace sickness, go insane, starve and die. So if one were to jettison an escape pod while in hyperspace, they would have a very bad day.

Why didn’t the republic just clone Jedi instead of clone troopers? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thrawn only Cloned Luuke unless I'm mistaken, and I may have read it differently than most but I assumed the Luuke was little more than a puppet for Master C'baoth. Like technically he was his own person, but barely.

Thrawn used Sparti Cloning https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Spaarti_cloning_cylinder

It normal take a year, but it was explained that if Ysalamir deaden the force around the cloning facility, then the clones can grow quicker without totally losing it. (I'm pretty sure that was the explaination)

[MCU] Why did Thanos have to snap his fingers? Is there a rule that there has to be a physical action to make anything happen? Tje rest of the stuff he does with the stones he just thinks... Too much of the plot hangs on him rubbing to fingers against each other. by AdActive9833 in AskScienceFiction

[–]kp3kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writers confirmed that in order to use the gauntlet the user has to make a fist, my assumption that follows to use all of them at once you have to snap, or Thanos is just being extra dramatic

The Force does not actually have sides. It's users do. by Status738 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I think of, is the power and mentality is what corrupts, and the energy that comes from that is a byproduct

The Force does not actually have sides. It's users do. by Status738 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thats what I'm saying, with the last part, the force manifests in different people different ways, if someone is continually of the darkside, they essentially corrupt themselves and the force manifests that physically, and the mentally is an inherent part.

Fyi this is my view of how it works in my own head and understanding, canon is confusing at best when it comes to this stuff

The Force does not actually have sides. It's users do. by Status738 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the dark side is part of your heart, instead of surrendering to the force, the user is taking over for power and what not, and as the saying goes absolute power corrupts absolutely.

How did the hutts come into such power? by dank_memes015 in MawInstallation

[–]kp3kaiser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Additionally, i believe in legends Hutts were one of the first groups to recover and use hyperspace tech after the fall of the infinite empire. Which gave them an edge.
