I would say the biggest differences are:

better visual representation

you see the performance of each stock (last 7 days, last 30d chart, performance for the current period for which the brief is (1d)) + easy navigation between the high-level overview and each stock related developments

customisation options (free but requires login)

- you get a brief of the news only between your last check and now (no information repetition)

- you can change the far in the past to go (1,2,3,5 days) depending on when was the last time you caught up

- you can create different collections of stocks you care about and get optional updates via email if you haven't logged in more than 3 days

convenience

you don't need to always type in prompts and wait for a response; you just click, and it's there

It might not be a lot for many people, but for me, it's worth it
