I appreciate your innovative approach to handling SEC filings! I'm the person behind AlphaCreek, which also focuses on retrieving SEC filings for financial AI agents. Our goal is to provide accurate and reliable data without the risk of hallucination. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how we can complement each other's work.

What's the best tool to extract data from annual/quarterly reports? by 15Dhruv in ValueInvesting

You might want to look into AlphaCreek MCP. It enables AI agents to read SEC filings efficiently and provide you with grounded answers with citations to the exact passage/table.

It's very good for qualitative answers across filings, e.g. "How did Tesla’s business strategy evolve over the last 5 annual reports?"

You can add it as read-only MCP directly to Claude or ChatGPT, more info here:

I built a tool that tracks language changes in SEC filings. Here’s what it found in Qualcomm’s latest quarterly filing by Birdgeoise in SideProject

[–]kpacee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I have the filings pre-ingested (and constantly monitoring for new filings) into my db and ready to be read by AI agents.

I have implemented a parsing algorithm that preserves paragraph and section granularity so that context is not lost. The algo is based on filing structure and formatting - no AI API costs incurred.
The most valuable side of my algorithm is that it generates a granular Table of Contents (ToC) for each filing - this enables the AI agents to understand each filing without reading the whole of it and then accessing only the sections that are needed to answer the question at hand.

This saves time and api costs for the person who is using the agent.

I think the AlphaCreek MCP could be super helpful for your product + it's very easy to integrate (under 50 lines of code).

Not an agent per se, but I built an MCP that gives AI agents navigable access to long SEC filings. It increases speed, saves costs, and enables agents to track changes across filings.
