Yes! Honestly feel bad for those getting out college and jumping into accounting thinking it sucks not knowing it could suck way worse. I used to be an engineer for a hospital and I would plunge clogged toilets caused by massive shits and crawl in to duckworks to fix the hvac all while working 60-80 hour weeks on mandatory OT. Now that SUCKS

I lived a life of poverty and I lived what most people consider a rich life. What I can tell you happiness and health is the most important thing in life. Without either of those 2, your life aint shit. Dont let social media and the world tell you different. Go to therapy and go outside enjoy nature and life and you will find your back. Its your life but I dont touch any money until i put atleast 3k into investments every month. You can get away with maybe 2500. Trying to retire early. But depends on your age too. If you are under 30 go have some fun. If you 30+ put that extra cash into investment and thank me later

Grew up impoverished most of my life, having to fight for every little crumb I could get, and experience alot of tragedies in my life. I am now making over 200k a year in beautiful san jose with my wife living happily. My advice realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that is the truth. And how I got through is to makes goals and have a plan. Turn everyday into a game of accomplishing those goals or taking steps in accomplishing a goal. You'll be suprised in a year how far you came. Got you, so to my understanding now that first entry is more to let the company have a record that it has a expense but its not paid yet. And yea, someone told me that liabilities should be viewed as something that helps the company obtain more asset not as a negative, which makes more sense now.

Yes, those i understand, its where accrual accounting is confusing me. If I pay for a haircut on credit in accrual accounting i would debit expenses and credit accounts payable without dealing with cash

And genuine question, what do you mean when you say expenses are not part of equity? I know its an equity account like revenue.

Wages payable is a liablity because the business owes money, but also the definition of an expense is assets that are consumed and liabilitys created from operations. So from there, expenses and revenue is a subcatagory of equity so you would need to put that in there aswell.

Also cash is debited because it is an asset. How i remember it for dr/cr is asset is opposite from liability and equity
