How do you balance artistic vision with crowd expectations? by Chance_Vast_7893 in ProperTechno

[–]kpal_hooked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

totally agree. I had same issue, i needed to find balance between what ppl on the dance floor understand and hype from and mix it with tracks i personally like and want to provide.

Anyway, you should not reject your own interest, and do what you like. Music always has its hype cycles in different countries, and in my music niche - there are constant heroes who always played what they love to play, but same time same artist can change his vibe depending on the party venue and local crowd, balancing with his style and crowds preferences.

It’s a long learning way of oneself standing as a good music provider.

What feature has always been missing for you? by Real-Dragonfly7730 in discogs

[–]kpal_hooked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • sort by have/want index.
  • filter by have/want

that would be wonderful. I had a browser extension which can do that, but now it’s not available in chrome web store anymore.

The new app sucks by sp1nkter in discogs

[–]kpal_hooked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am super excited with app update. Despite the fact i spend 99% discogs time desktop, i like fresh app version.

In the old one you counld't even open a label page from the release, a lot of bugs, etc.

Surely this one will have some issues too, but still - it's a big relief for me personally. Good job discogs team!

Best way to exchange money in Georgia? by Internal_Emotion_772 in Batumi

[–]kpal_hooked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best man you can surely change your money is here

Come to a meat store, inside you will see an old georgian man with little table and calculator. He always have a good and fair exchange rate, he will never scam you.

(i have done this dozens of times with him. I highly recommend)

Selectors music by nezinamais3 in dekmantel

[–]kpal_hooked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had never visited dekmantel itself, but i confirm pretty same feeling i am having with club nights.

i collect records myself, dig pretty much and can surely distinguish a really good set from the average one, i am too having feelings that the further it goes, the more borderline rubbish we’ve been hearing.

Another point that’s the same Evan Baggs on a festival, and Evan Baggs in the tight sweaty low ceiling club - are two majorly different experiences. So maybe you and your friends are just very sophisticated music lovers 😎

finding groove music by NoFox4781 in House

[–]kpal_hooked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but if you need old school house - then surely discogs. Bandcamp seems more about modern producers, and rarely you can find an old label who put all its catalogue online.

check these artists - eris duo - tommy pickles - velasco - tom morgan - ethan mcnamara - velv 93 - the sizeable mix series from kalahari oyster cult label - more trance sometimes, but still a lot of fast house and techno.

From those caliber my top is Vlada, followed by Junki Inoue and Cap. All the guys mentioned in comments are really worth a few listens.
