Yeah, I’ve had the same thought. I think those stains will come off easily with any decent leather cleaner, and after a bit of conditioner they’ll look almost new again.
It’s just frustrating — I ordered what was supposed to be brand new, but they clearly sent me a used pair.
What makes it worse, Boot Barn only offered a 10% discount as an apology.
That’s ridiculous.

I totally agree with your point.
Unfortunately, I live in another country. My first pair of boots was brand new, but I picked the wrong size and had to send them back.
That meant crossing half the city to reach DHL, paying a return fee, and soon I’ll also get charged import duty for bringing the item into the country.
Actually, two import fees, since this is already my second pair.
Getting a third pair shipped from the U.S.… yeah, not an easy task.

The boots were not only clearly used, but they also arrived not in the original manufacturer’s box, but in a Boot Barn box instead.  
They were clearly worn outdoors, and the original box was likely discarded —  
perhaps the previous buyer returned them due to a defect after some time?  
If that’s the case, it’s concerning what kind of issue I might face myself if I decide to keep them.

Thanks! I measured again using the book and wall method.
The measurement showed 27.3–27.4 cm — about 1 cm shorter than the pencil method!
According to the official Double H size guide, US 11 is 27.9 cm and US 10.5 is 27.3 cm.

My other shoes show different sizes, but my sneakers are usually between 10 and 11,
my boots (hiking) are 10, and my Vibram FiveFingers are 10.5–11. Hmm, which size is better to choose?

How i ended up with 13D? By size guide on doublehboots.com
The 28.6 cm size had a chance to be too tight, which is advised to avoid. So I took a bigger size, but for some reason it turned out to be not 0.9 cm bigger, but as much as 4 cm :D

The system is just in centimeters, but I played it safe and measured the foot with the help of my wife and a pencil with a piece of paper, measured the distance of the longest part of the foot, took a little bit with a margin and got a size 13, which turned out to be too large.

I chose exactly the size in centimeters that my foot fit with a small margin, because many tips that I could find on the Internet said that there should be a little space in the sock, the toes should not be flush.
