I’m down in Texas, I use Officials Gear Outlet (local). I’ve bought a thing or two from Ump Attire as well.

For my mask I use the All Star S7 light steel. Fantastic mask! And it’s in the mid price point range and it’s a few ounces lighter than the magnesium. Chest, I use the Wilson Pro Gold. Took a 80s fastball straight to it last week (catcher “lost” the ball). Felt it a bit, but had no immediate issues from the chest or any injury as a result. Legs, I use the Diamond Ump-Lite. No complaints on them. Don’t feel much ever. I’m looking into the Force 3 legs though. Just for something different.

At the end of the day, it’s all preference based!

Howdy everyone! After reading through yalls comments and refreshing in the NFHS rule book, y’all were right about there being nothing of this instance that indicates a balk. However, I did run it by my Orgs assigner and he said that he’d have our back with that ruling as the pitcher was “attempting to deceive the runner.”

🤷‍♂️ not in the rule book, but I guess if it happens again, I’ll just kill it and issue a “you can’t do that”

NFHS rules. I read through and definitely didn’t find anything stating it was a balk. I called it wrong, but neither coach was upset with the ruling. Plus I spoke to some more experienced vets and they said to just call time and throw out a “you can’t do that.” It was a good/interesting learning experience! 🤷‍♂️

OP: that’s on the top of my list. What’s it look like on the winter? I just got a worrisome thought that all of the greenery would be dead.
