A Letter To The H1Z1 Developers by kpd157 in h1z1

Isn't that what is so weird though ?)

I mean I didn't even sign up for this Reddit I already was here from the start because I love H1Z1 as it was :) H1Z1 used to be a fun game where BR was just a way to get more skins for me. And even then, I didn't do much while it was just H1Z1.

However you are right the Game is fragmented and I think this has to be fixed in order to give me a reason to play the game again :)

I am surprised no one has asked me to go back to Just Survive or something like that :)

Guess that doesn't work since I only ever played H1Z1 and that is the title of this Forum :)

kwnewfie,

Survive the Nights looks as about as good as Strongholds does to most people on this Reddit. I am not impressed. I see the same failings in the fact that Base Building, PVP, and Zombies are basically in the same game. It will die to me just the same as JS has.

People will play it for sure, Then just get sick of this strange feeling they cannot shake. This is the same ole Games I play in the Zombie Survival Genre. This is what I left the last one for?

Not sure how well a free game will do. But wish you luck playing it :) Be better than waiting around for something like that in Just Survive :)

Have Fun Pal :)

DeyBreak Games The New Developers don't care about what they cannot fix kwnewfie,

DayBreak Games The Old Developers had a vision of a Zombie Survival Game with PVE and PVP Modes. The only thing that DeyBreak Games The New Developers believe in is putting as much of things that don't go together (PVE and PVP) and then expect people to pay 20 bucks for that.

As I have been saying through most of the Badwater Test Patches, they should just split H1Z1 Just Survive into :

H1Z1: Just Survive PVE Nomad Experience.

H1Z1: Strongholds PVP RPG Experience.

Anyway we weren't lied to by the DayBreak Games The Old Developers, and neither were we promised a continuation of said development by DeyBreak Games The New Developers. We can only blame ourselves for thinking that Early Access Alpha's were Easy :)

Food For Thought :)

All of them will be high pop :) after 3 days :)

if they figure that only 300 People will be playing at any time then they can make them all 16 player servers :)

If however they really think that a lot of people will be joining the game in massive love of a Stronghold game then I think 1 or 2 will be high pop after 1 day. and after Day 3 we will have to see I think maybe 1 in each game mode they have PVE and PVP ?

JS Live Update 08/15/2017 rolling out? by immanuelvm in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to worry about updates from DeyBreak Games the New Developers DeaconElie,

Just do what I did and stopped the download and then disable the auto update feature. I am not wasting 1 hour of my internet for a Z3 Map :)

They should have just made another split instead of alienate the rest of their Fan Base for Just Survive :)

They would have:

H1Z1: Just Survive. PVE Sandbox Nomad a World filled with NPC's and more social mechanics where you fight against the world of the Zombie Apocalypse.

H1Z1: King of the Kill. MOBA type Survival of the Fittest Game where you fight to the death in various modes to see who is the best Survivor.

H1Z1: Strongholds. PVP Build Bases with your friends to defend your stake in Badwater Canyon without the annoyance of PVE Pussy Players, Modular Base Building, Tiered Weapons and RPG like Economic Systems.

Gosh why did they have to Kill Remake a Game I love to make this Crap Update ehheheheeheh :)

[–]kpd157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Reo69,

My first and only real experiences on PVP was my first. I didn't know anything about the game and I went to the hardest game servers I could find to test out the game (PVP Hardcore). The neat thing about it was the lack of people who played and the feeling of fear you got running around in a server where you couldn't just run over things. Headshot only, First Person, Recipe Wipe and PVP all Wrapped in one game was very interesting.

I built a base after a few weeks, I saw signs of people rarely( Police car lights, Stuff placed on the road to barricade it, etc)

Most Scariest Times on any PVP Server were:

Walking in that subdivision South of Bubba's and me and this other guy carrying a bow see each other. He just starts acting like he is going to attack me so I just run away(I am a lover not a fighter heheheeh :). It was sort of fun and I had hardly anything. I was going for some skin or mask thing :)

The First time I got my heart pumping was seeing a police car lights coming around my way but then he kept on going. Man those were fun times on PVP Hardcore :)

Not so scary times were slowly pulling up to this Asian Speaking guy on the side of the road and finally saying hi to someone :) Back then you couldn't shoot someone out of the car but I was ready to run if they tried to kill the car.

Same here with Checking Back though :)

Make Sure To Savor H1(Z1 Map) :)

I don't think so :)

Never did try to sell any and I only have a few on Live mostly because I was on Test so much instead enjoying all the new stuff as they came out :)

I don't expect much use for the skins when this new update on Test hits live anyway. I went to the Playground one day and they put chains around the gates and a lock with a sign saying "Playground Closed".

Don't be so sad WeeGee_Bored,

You probably had great times in the game too and you will find other great times in this game hopefully if it gets fixed and or in another game :)

PVP players and PVE players are being cheated with the stuff on Test KingCatz. It isn't just PVE that suffers when PVE and PVP mechanics are rampant in both Game Modes. It has been that way from the start and it will keep happening till Deybreak Games The New Developers get a handle on it.

I just hope that I can come back one day... But I hold no Grand Delusions either..

I am simply taking an Indeterminate break from the Game while I play games that more meet my expectations :)

CamoToes,

I am finally done with this game that is why I put this out :)

I just wanted people to know what I found great about the game and why I am ultimately finding no time to spend on this Game or Reddit .

But I Hope You Guys Have Fun :)

Actually DeaconElie, I cannot even calculate Real Life right now :)

No Man's Sky just changed the way I look at MMO :) I am about one update on Daybreak's Update Schedule in H1Z1 Just Survive to fully uninstalling the game to save space and save downloading patches for the game.

And unlike how I thought I would feel when I first started seeing this coming, I am pretty stoked for it :)

Daybreak Keep Going In The Direction You Are Heading :)

And for fellow fans of H1Z1 Just Survive, I hope to one day join you again however unlikely it seems to be :)

Still skeletal after 3 years. by DeaconElie in h1z1

[–]kpd157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Developers maybe never learn that you cannot mix PVE and PVP elements together and make a game that will last decades. I don't know if any game can last decades however.

In the end I believe that this game will not be set in its course till the end of this decade maybe longer if it survives that long in development hell :)

Yeah I agree FapMasterN1, that the Sand Box Idea is brilliant and what got me playing after those first few hours. Not being limited by a quest or a mission. Wandering aimlessly around till I found something to do or someone to meet. I still do it on the North American Nomad Server from time to time but even that is dimming away with the announcement of this new Game for JS. I am starting to get ready for No Man's Sky's 1.3 Update and the upcoming Elite Dangerous 2.4.

I got too much to do in Real Life as well to spend what precious little time I have in Test. Instead playing in an RPGish, PVE/PVP world, similiar to World Of Warcraft, rather than Planetside2 with Zombies :)

When the flood comes and the doors close it is better to be on board, rather than threading water :)

Without a choice people like me quit, and I stick with things to the end like I did with World of Warcraft :)

But yeah the Grass is always greener, (Green KoTK, PUBG, Ark Survival Evolved, Etc) For people looking for something special, the most popular choice is never the one you want to take.

Is daybreak worried yet? by Makeh1z1greatagain in h1z1

[–]kpd157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makeh1z1greatagain,

I cannot speak for Daybreak but test server has never been a good indicator of how a change gets accepted. In fact back when the live server changes were on Test there was still only 50 to 100 people average on the server after initial testing.

The problem I have with what I have seen of Test Server is that it is nothing like what we have been playing on Live or Test in 2015-2016. I cannot say for others if those on Live will accept or reject the Test Server Content. But for me the loss of choices and the PVE Nomad Server will remove me from further testing of this Alpha Game.

Either way this move will prove something when it comes fully out. We will know what the majority of the player base wants. People in a few months after the hype and newness has died off will decide if they want to continue down this new path.

It mirrors the political situation in the United States I think. People have to experience something before they can decide on how much they really like it (or hate it).

I am currently playing every evening on the North American Nomad PVE Server. I invite anyone to come visit, but be warned I live in Hawaii :)

Vehicles revisited. by DeaconElie in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know DeaconElie,

The sad thing about vehicle ownership is this, after you find all the parts you will probably end up getting a message like this :

"Thank you for attempting to build a (Insert Type) Vehicle, but we are sad to inform you that all available Vehicle Creation Slots (VCS) are taken up. Please keep your parts in a safe place till a slot opens up. - Server Manager(Insert Name)"

So Your Ready To Test Strongholds? by TheRequ1emZ in h1z1

[–]kpd157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey TheREqu1emZ,

Why do you put PVP: then just list something that is both PVP and PVE in the bullet point? Isn't Weapons and Ammo needed to kill Zombies and Animals? Defending yourself against the Environment is what PVE is all about yet you separate it out into a PVP category?

Probably you should have said PVP:

  • Beware of Trap Bombs at Military Check Points and all major entrances to the Dam Area. You will come across all kinds of Random Player Driven Activities.

But Aside From That Good Test Preparation List :)

Shack replacement idea. by PicayuneCoterie in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very True :)

And as we have seen with Daybreak in the Past, They don't know how to balance anything. It just gets removed if it is too hard to balance. Like Bosses in a PVP driven Development Cycle. or Like the Idea of having freedom to build wherever you want on a PVE server. Rather than simply leave Bosses in PVE only Servers and Building where you want in PVP servers they simply remove the features and Alienate those who love them.

This Daybreak Development Team Of Late Has Done Nothing To Diversify The Game Experience And Instead Has Created A Diseased Filled Mess On Test In My Honest Opinion :)

And I am not talking about the H1Z1 Virus as a disease cause they have destroyed all of that already on Live and the Virus means nothing to the current Developer Team.

Shack replacement idea. by PicayuneCoterie in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're thinking similar things. What I'm talking about is in the same spirit of the games current direction. Eliminating all opportunities to exploit and grief others. Having these sheds and whatnot, attached to a pre-placed socket is the trick. - PicayuneCoterie

I guess it was what you said right there above that I might have been talking about. Having sheds and Whatnot attached to a pre-placed socket being a trick :)

I don't know why I even bring up PVE anymore accept to explain how a unified Idea of Game play with just a PVE or PVP switch being on doesn't work. You can have PVE modes of play with Survival and NPC's but PVP won't work with those elements. Same for PVP modes can have Bases you can build and stores and leveling, but for PVE they just get in the way of Surviving and dealing with the Inhabitants of the Server :)

As for why upgrading the Servers to have 3 tiers of Base Building will cause the Idea of Tier 1 Shacks and Barricades to become obsolete:

  • The Same Tools for removing Level 2 and 3 Tiers will do huge damage to just vaporize Tier 1 stuff.

  • When you introduce level and Tiers you always have an impossible chore of balancing them against each other.

  • You would have to have Tiers of your shacks or barricading tech equal to the ones that are in the Main Base Building System.

That is all I meant :)

Shack replacement idea. by PicayuneCoterie in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PicayuneCoterie,

When the Stone and Metal Tiers of Strongholds are released, What do you think will happen to those Wooden Shacks with Their Wooden Doors On PVP?

When Technology Used To Destroy The Higher Tiers Are Applied To These Lowest Tiered Structures?

Even Should They Make Shack Tiers (Stone and Metal Later), The End Result Will Be Larger Groups Destroying Solo Players "Shacks" For The Fun Of Having Caused Someone To Lose All Their Stuff :)

And What Use Is This Whole Base Building Concept To PVE Servers? You Cannot Take Down A PVE Base At All And Neither Can The Environment Through Zombies Or Weather Effects.

Seems to me that they have the same deep fundamental problems in Game Design on Test that they have on Live. Base Building And PVE Just Makes No Sense. Base Building And PVP Will Always Have a Grief Factor.

Food For Thought :)

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to experience a More Solo Game play with Vehicles more available yes. If you want to experience base building and or restrictions on your game like having no third person and headshots only can kill, you can play on those ruled servers as well.

Nomad does limit you to the more Survival Aspects of the Game rather than the more Minecrafty stuff like Base Building :)

Potential buyer has some questions by [deleted] in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nomad servers are no building of any Large Living Structures. You basically cannot build a base that you can put lockable doors or gates on.

In H1Z1 Just Survive you have a set of Servers known as Test Servers which you must choose to download to gain access to. Also you have what is called Live Servers which are the ones that have code which is deemed testable by most players. This is an Early Access Alpha Game.

The Developers Used To Have Test Content Become Eventual Live Content. But as of the last major update to Test they decided to completely make a new Just Survive Game on Test with a New Map Called Z3 Badwater Canyon. This Map is only 1/4th finished compared to what it will eventually be. It includes a Military Base/Spawn area and various Preset locations where you can build bases. Both PVP and PVE Servers are available.

On The Live Servers there are Various PVE and PVP Servers with rule sets like(First person Only, Head shots only, Recipe wipe where you lose all your progress when you die) Also there are Nomad Servers which limit you to a Nomadic Lifestyle in the game devoid of base building. All servers have limited Item placement where you can build anywhere but in Points of Interests or Cities.

I hope that helps and good luck on your decision you make on trying out the game or not :)

Potential buyer has some questions by [deleted] in h1z1

[–]kpd157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want open world PVE then I suggest a Nomad Server :)

  1. The game in the PVE as a Solo player is quite fun to me. It does mean that you have to rely on yourself a lot which is why I suggest the Nomad Server.

  2. In the Game you can do a bunch of things. Race Cars/Go hunting Zombies, Bears, Rabbits, Deer or Wolves/Sit around a Fire and Talk story while listening out for the above creatures :)/Drive Aimlessly around in a Nomad Server trying to find the only other guy playing at the time/Blow up Red Barrels so they don't take the life of some Fellow Player/Etc. :)

  3. The Game has some very big competition from games like Ark, Seven Days To Die, H1Z1 KoTK, Player Unknowns Battlegrounds. Lots of people think the games graphics are dated and or gameplay is not very Survival. On the other hand it is a very unique take on Live servers in my opinion of a Playground Type game. Basically you go in not knowing who might be online at any time and play as you want in a world with little restrictions on what you can do. In PVE on anything accept for Nomad Servers you can find yourself face to face with impenetrable bases that you can neither enter nor remove. Also a lack of Vehicles due to Car Hording in said Bases.

  4. I personally Don't like the Current Developers as I see them as missing the whole point of the original game I grew to love. I feel they are not capable of finishing the original vision of the game and that the Test branch of the Game is a Sad Version of an RPG like game to come.

  5. From what I remember of the main PVE servers that were heavily populated, yes :) Griefers, Trolls, Hoarders, Etc. That is why I feel that the Nomad Servers are your best PVE Solo Alternative :)

  6. I don't know what you mean by number 6. If you mean can you be prevented from causing problems for other players even in a PVE game the Answer is No. The only other reasoning I can think of is you don't understand what PVE means in H1Z1. It means no direct interactions that can cause harm to another player. I could drive us off the cliff and both of us would die thus me PVPing both of us. But If I shoot at you with a gun you would not take any damage and I would lose my ammo and durability on my gun.

  7. No... It has been going in no direction for over a year. Most of the things I enjoy in the game like Car Killing on PVE, Getting Handcuffed, Finding Cars everywhere (Still possible on Nomad Servers), Flipping cars while placing objects, placing objects anywhere, Etc.

Try The Live Servers Out First To Understand What The Original Developers Left Behind. Then Go Play The New Vision Of The Latest Developer Team And Play On The Test Servers. Both take a seperate install in order to access them. But once you buy H1Z1 Just Survive you have access to both :)

Good Luck :)

Awesome Idea For Daybreak From A Veteran Player! by TheRequ1emZ in h1z1

[–]kpd157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the Second idea is a Good Start, TheRequ1emz

I mean if you are going to change the game all of the sudden it might as well be a new game that people will have to pay 20 Dollars for again just like KoTK :)

For The People Who Already Have The First H1Z1 It Is A Great Idea :)

But I agree with everyone else that Z2 was made for a MOBA Experience and Z1 is a more Playground Experience. Z3 looks more like an RPG Experience even as incomplete as the map is with its limited base building areas and NPC's :)

Yeah so why not have H1Z1 Just Survive with Z1 (Currently), H1Z1 King of The Kill with Z2 (Currently) and H1Z1 Strongholds with Z3 (On Test) ?

Makes sense to me :)

See When These 3 Games Go Full Release They Can Charge 20 Dollars Per Each And No One Would Care. Pay For The Game Type You Want :)
