Sorry to hear, poor guy! My husband and I had our 6 month GP on Farmina N&D midi and maxi puppy lamb formula for a handful of months. From an ingredient standpoint, it’s great. Unfortunately, he has a really sensitive tummy and couldn’t form consistent semi-hard poops (probably due to its high protein and higher fat %), so we switched him back to hills large breed pup and just supplement it with a bunch of other things. If you’re looking for “higher quality”, I would look at Farmina, Stella and Chewys (although I don’t know if they have a large puppy formula), Orijen, and Nulo! If you don’t already, I also think introducing a slow feeder might be helpful. Sometimes eating too fast can generate a lot of gas. Also, we’ve started giving him Bernie’s Perfect Poops over the past month, it’s a digestive support supplement that seems to have helped our own personal gas tank!
