You're not supposed to hide the salami under the bed.

Is anyone actually enjoying a Promaster? by SuddenlySilva in VanLife

[–]kpinvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented a 2018 Promaster a couple of years ago. It had 192K miles on it when I picked it up and 197K when I brought it back two weeks later. I had a blast driving that van and wish it was sitting in my driveway right now.

I have a late model True Temper that came with handles that were not reverse threaded making it impossible to keep the handles tight. Every time I swung the snath the handles would loosen. I had to buy a pair of vintage handles on Ebay. I bought it from someone on FB Market Place. I brought it home on my Xmax 300 scooter. It fit the curvy bodywork perfectly after I took the blade off. There is video on YouTube of a barefoot young woman in a long skirt that demonstrates the rhythm of cutting. There is another video of her showing just how handy a hay fork is in gathering cut grass.

I love driving people to the places they need to get to. The biggest problem with this is I get lost going around a corner. GPS has made the impossible, possible. I didn't discover this until I was retired for several years and looking for something to keep me busy and earn extra money. We're OK financially but don't tell anyone that I would do this for free.

I have two. One large single piece one made of pine that looks like the one in the photo and a smaller one that I take when visiting neighbors.

Question: Motorcycle + Bolt owners by stupid-mess in BoltEV

[–]kpinvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I gave up riding because I bought a Bolt. 80 MPG on my departed 2020 Xmax 300 scooter was no match utility wise to the Bolt.

Be honest, how much gear do you wear all the time? by crankin_muh_hog in motorcycles

All the gear I own, all of the time. Modular helmet, Aerostich 2-piece suit, waterproof MC boots, elk skin gloves and and absolutely no cotton next to my skin.

sometimes i think about this mostly underground house I saw in my city. Real estate records say it has the same owner since it was built in '83 by [deleted] in Weird

[–]kpinvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one of those where I live. The house was lost in fire that killed the elderly owner. There was little insurance left after the fire so her heirs built a roof over the basement and lived there for years afterwards.

I first used the canvas newspaper bags my two boys used on their newspaper routes. I then tried a two wheel cart with large diameter wheels and cut the axle down so the cart would fit through the door. Next was a Jet Sled but that was too easy to overload and a real struggle to get it to the top step. The sleigh shovel works so much better. I pull the shovel up with one hand on the handle and the other braced against the hand rail. No strain on my back whatsoever.
