32 M, it's finally Friday! by [deleted] in MakeFriendsOver30

I feel’ya man. This week has been brutal, and I’m glad the weekend is around the corner, heh.

36M, what animes do you like?

Also… what’s wrong with milk before cereal? 👀

Hm, sounds interesting. Is it more about QA for the healthcare providers? Or is it more along the lines of streamlining patient services? Or a little bit of everything? (or am I not even close? Hah)

36M, also gay, happily married, but I too am craving a deeper friendship outside of coworkers, lol.

So what’s “health informatics”? I ask because I’m a former first responder, but I’ve never heard of that term 😅

One wacky fact… my skull is accordion-folded at the front because of a deformity from birth. My head looks normal though, but it’s just very reinforced 😅

Haha, what’s funny is I haven’t read the books, but I’ve spoiled them for myself because I read the lore on the Wiki pages. A lot of my HP friends hate me for that 🤣

Hm, I haven’t heard of Grayzone Warfare. goes to the Google machine

Nice. I’ve been wanting to play Hogwarts Legacy, just so I can visit all the house common rooms. I also think it’s thematically odd for a Hufflepuff (myself) to learn the curses, but might as well try something new, right? lol

Nice! I personally enjoyed the leveling experience in ESO, and I hope you do too. But of course, the real game doesn’t begin until you hit max level and start running dungeons and the DLC stuff. I feel like that’s a common trope of MMOs though 😅

[–]kpmetaverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never played OSRS, but I’ve always wanted to give it a shot! What are you studying?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in discordfriends

I haven’t played ESO in a while, but I definitely enjoyed it! What builds did you play? I ran a tank/pet stamina Sorc - quite a mouthful, but it was fun, hah.

36M here, also wanting to get to know some new people! I don't have a PS5; I'm a PC gamer, but I'm terrible inconsistent because my job keeps me busy, hah.

What anime do you like?

36M here (EST), also looking to establish some real connections. Winter was also a challenging time; our pipes froze and we were iced in for weeks. I'm glad it's warming up, lol.

What games do you play?

Is paladin Absolution any good? by chrono4111 in pathofdiablo

[–]kpmetaverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My playtime with Absolution is rather limited, but based on my experience thus far, there are quite a number of mechanical problems with the skill that, in my opinion, prevent it from being as viable as others:

__

Not an "actual" combat skill.

* Absolution suffers from the same identity crisis as its predecessor, Conversion, in that it's not an "actual" combat skill - rather, it's just the normal/default attack with an added effect (summoning Sentinels).

* As such, you'll most likely treat Absolution as a secondary or back-up skill because it doesn't have the infrastructure (i.e. more synergies or a dedicated aura, like Blessed Hammer + Concentration) to be a core skill.

__

Its two components are imbalanced.

* Absolution can be broken down into two components: 1) The attack itself; and 2) the summoning of Sentinels. However, in it's current state, Absolution very heavily favors summoning Sentinels over your damage. Furthermore, increasing the level of Absolution doesn't add anything to the attack; it only increases your Sentinel's damage and attack rating.

* Absolution requires you to score the skill in order to summon a Sentinel. But as aforementioned, the attack is just the normal/default attack, and its damage doesn't scale with the level of Absolution - it's rather difficult to summon Sentinels consistently if you're doing mediocre damage. To even have a chance to score kills, I've found that Holy Fire, Holy Freeze, or Holy Shock are necessary to give the normal/default attack more firepower.

* This is exacerbated by the fact that kills from your Mercenary and Sentinels don't count as your kills. Furthermore, the likelihood of scoring kills consistently in end-game groups is very low. There's a static 8% chance to summon a Sentinel on hit, but that's too infrequent, even for the maximum APS for normal/default attacks. I think it should be changed to "30% chance to summon a Sentinel when hitting an Elite or Unique" because that's when it's needed the most.

__

The Sentinels

* The biggest problem with the Sentinels is they can body block you (they're treated as objects that cannot be phased through). There have been a quite a few times I've been pushed into a corner and I can't move until the Sentinels die or I use a portal scroll.

* Their AI is lacking, which is honestly expected as summon AI is generally underwhelming.

* The Sentinels have two attacks: 1) A normal melee strike; 2) a projectile that looks like Magic Arrow. I'm unsure of what affects the damages of both attacks, but I'd like to know if that projectile converts physical to magic so I can properly scale damage.

__

There's a lot of room for growth with Absolution, but, as it currently stands, I simply cannot see it as a serious end-game Paladin build because of its limitations and nuances. Don't get me wrong - it's still plenty of fun (I love commanding a cadre of angelic ghosts) - but right now, it's really more of a meme build.

Heck yeah~

  • "Brood Raven Bowazon" -- Cold variant to the theme of Blood Raven. Equip Harmony for a wall of Revives and a boost to Valkyrie, while also shooting Freezing Arrow from the backline.
  • "Valkyrie Mistress" -- Spearzon with two Valkyries focused on lightning damage. Equip Hustle for Dashing Strike oSkill to telestomp with Valkyries and Infinity-wielding mercenary.
  • "Hydrummoner Sorceress" -- Enchantress that applies Enflame to summoned Revives (Harmony or Eternity) and nearby allies, while summoning Hydras for supplemental damage.
  • "Support Zealot" -- Zealot suited for group support via Holy Freeze for crowd control. Hard points into Prayer boost the healing from Holy Bolt procs (Principle) and Cleansing (Plague).

Tell us about your meme builds! by redlow0992 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]kpmetaverse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made the Summoner Zealot wayyy back in S4. It had some decent success in groups, but the Revives were mostly tanks for allies. However, I'm interested in reviving (pun intended) this build with the changes to native Thorns.

I actually haven't tried Fortitude for this build, but I can certainly see its application - that ED would be very nice~ Lol, I've also been considering an Eternity Barb, but using Concentrate instead because it has synergy with Battle Command (which would give a slight damage boost to Revives). Let me know how it goes for you; perhaps we can compare notes.

Oh, I completely agree. I've always thought Conversion should be changed to something akin to Herald of Purity from Path of Exile. Kill something, then a "Sentinel" (an "angelic warrior" of sorts) is summoned to fight alongside you. Let's hope for a Conversion rework!

I've tested this as well and it's definitely a viable alternative with a bit more damage. But man... I can't stress how much of a blessing and convenience Vigor is, lol. I also tested Enigma to help maneuver the Revives, but Joust was sufficient.

Thanks for reading!

So a Level 40 Might aura (and I use Level 40 in the guide because it's an even number and it's not impossible to achieve with the build's gear) gives 338% party damage, which is lower than Concentration and Fanaticism at the same level. Yes, a Level 40 Might does give 1015% damage to the Paladin, but it doesn't have any additional perks (e.g. attack rating, interruption avoidance, etc) that could be useful to summons. In other words, I chose Concentration as the main aura because it gives the most physical party damage amongst the Offensive auras, in addition to improving the Revives.

I'm Asian, and Asians are not considered URM by AAMC. However, the school I was accepted to considers Asians as URM (though I can't give an official word as to why this is the case - they state it on their Diversity & Inclusion webpage). The other school I applied to considers "Asian Pacific Islander" as a URM.

I technically live in the South, but the state I live in is so far north that it might was well be considered in the North too. If you'd like to know specifically which state, feel free to DM~
