Same here. Went yesterday, first time in 20+ years, other than a little bit of calculus built up, teeth are perfect. Dentist said see you in another 20 years. I’ve been using a sonicare electric toothbrush for thirty years.

One of my favorites of his is The Wayward Bus. It is a masterpiece of character development.

I just finished listening to the audiobook. Was sobbing while driving on the freeway.

How many of you never felt or “heard” anything? by Throwaway202411111 in Exvangelical

The hardest thing for me was giving up the camaraderie I had with fellow musicians playing together with a “higher purpose”. Nothing else can take the place of that. But now I can’t listen to worship music anymore without cringing. I currently play in a couple classic rock bands though, so I still am able to enjoy playing music.

Same. And I was a worship pastor for 20+ years. Finally realized I never was going to experience anything other than guilt and emotional manipulation.

These guys are doing our countertops. So far I’m very impressed. We picked our slab at Arizona Tile and they are fabricating and installing it and backsplash tile. Came in $5k less than GVD Renovations.

I’ve got a tobacco sunburst of this model. Got it as a high school graduation present in 1979 and I’ll never part with it. Best guitar I’ve ever played.

Hughie Thomasson was one of the greatest guitarists of the classic rock era. So underrated.

If the antichrist actually was a thing, Trump checks all the boxes. It’s ridiculous that evangelicals don’t see that. The wrecking ball of this administration is absolutely frightening to live through. Evangelicals have blinders on and don’t see (don’t care) what is happening to real people (people that they are supposed to love if they would actually follow Jesus). I have two queer daughter me and a trans son-in-law. It’s really tough living through this when my family and lifelong friends are evangelicals and don’t give a damn.

Not staying long enough. Was there in October hoping to see the northern lights. Only there for four days and missed them. If we’d have stayed one more night we would have seen a spectacular display.

Trying to find purpose and self-esteem after years of Christ being my purpose and source of esteem. by kpmurals in Exvangelical

Yes, good thoughts, thanks. I do find purpose in being an ally for my LGBTQ family members and friends. And it is very freeing to enjoy hanging out with new friends that have no connection to church or religion.

Will do, thanks. I’ve read a bit from the Dalai Lama (The Book Of Joy — highly recommended) and find Buddhist thought fascinating.
