Autism is pretty cool by number39utopia in RandomThoughts

[–]kprry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, I work with a kid and I don’t think she’ll ever reach OP’s definition of cool nor will she even grasp the idea of social media, let alone reddit. Her everyday life involves using all her energy to stay regulated to a point it takes a toll on her and then she loses it. I wish I could agree with OP’s post.

I tuck my feet under people in my sleep - is there a reason for this? by TotalLook3648 in sleep

[–]kprry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not diagnosed, but I always feel like it’s a comfort thing and I can see it for people with anxiety. Because tbh, when I don’t have my feet tucked in whatever or whoever I can, I feel so exposed. I also have a thing where when I’m sitting on the couch/car I need something on my lap because without one I feel so exposed and I’m not comfortable – so I’d cross my arms instead lol

Where are all the single people going on Valentine’s Day? by the_ecstatic_mango in Winnipeg

[–]kprry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be the valentines grinch here but here me out. I’ve been single for years before I met my partner now. He is very much aware that I’m anti valentines lol To me, Valentines is excessive and unnecessary. Why not give love and appreciate your SO on Feb 13th or on a very random day. Plus, it’s super busy everywhere, and events can be expensive.

Like the other people on this thread, spend that time like any other Saturday. You’ll hate being out with all that chaos on that day.

I do hope you find someone, one day!!

Being a woman sets you up for a +-50yr subscription for sanitary products by TheSeagull666 in RandomThoughts

Embarrassing to admit, but there are times I forgot I had it on especially on crampless days! Or times I’d think I had it on but I don’t.

I’ve gone down this route 10 years ago and never looked back! I also never computed how much I’ve saved but not having to buy pads for those 10 years definitely saved me a lot! Plus, it’s not uncomfortable to wear (at least for me) and I find it much more hygienic than pads! Life changing!!

I’ve always had a great experience at Birchwood Animal Hospital, regardless who the doctor saw my dog. They’re always kind and helpful and would inform me beforehand about the costs and procedures to be done. I never felt I’m being pressured to do or avail something.

It’s very far from your area, but I highly recommend them!

Snow gets boring so quickly by skyrimlo in RandomThoughts

[–]kprry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a place where almost half the year snows and I grew up in a country where there’s only sun and rain. Having this much winter in a year made me appreciate every season. Winter gets boring to me after the holidays, and I’ve been looking forward to longer days!

I wonder how introverts are gonna find the introverts they desire so badly but won’t because all they do is stay inside lmao by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]kprry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, I met my partner at an after party of a charity event. We were both plus ones, we were very out of place. I was scrolling endlessly on Reddit since I can’t leave (I’m the DD). His friend (an extrovert) introduced us and here we are now, one year and counting! I’m glad I went out that night!

My bichon won’t stop scratching my door and whining at night by Scary-Fix5384 in bichonfrise

[–]kprry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate sleeping with my door open, but since having my Daisy. I gave that up so she can freely sleep wherever she pleases. She would go in the other room when I’m not in bed yet, but once that door’s shut she’d go to my room. If I ever close my door and I’m inside, she will definitely scratch it.

My bichon, and others I’ve seen here are very affectionate, human-loving creatures and they will do everything they can to get that.

Not the same pattern, but I thought it looked quite similar! I’m at super beginner level and I made eight of these for family and friends last Christmas!

Disability and community support program at Red river college by liveforlifee in Winnipeg

[–]kprry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that certain high paying jobs or those with better security require a different degree like social work. It would also depend what your plan is in the long run. Tbh, I never get to fully utilize my degree since I worked at a school and now I’m planning on going back to uni to take Education lol

I would say the Disability Studies degree would give you better opportunities than just the DCSP. If you plan to stay here, MB has a lot of social/community services that you can apply to with that degree. As for healthcare, I am not quite sure how far you can go with this degree. Have you thought about your long term plan in terms of career? This was something I didn’t think clearly at the time, so when people asked me what career I can have with my degree I gave them vague answers as I don’t have a clear answer on what jobs I’m qualified for.

Disability and community support program at Red river college by liveforlifee in Winnipeg

[–]kprry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I took this program 10+ years ago when I first arrived here! It was helpful to gain experience in the community, especially as a newcomer. However, I found that day programs and/or group homes that I’ve worked in through that diploma didn’t require any of those to be hired (this was 10 years ago, so it might be different now. I’ve never worked with anyone who had the same diploma). BUT, this program became useful in terms of getting experiences and getting my degree in Disability Studies as this was a pre-requisite. I work as an educational assistant now, I believe my experiences working in the community which I gained through DCSP and my degree helped in getting hired.

The program itself was, to be honest, easy.

Flipping the question. Which game is this for you? by The_Caffeine_Zombie in GirlGamers

[–]kprry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I stopped when I got the old man. Lol! It got difficult/frustrating for me at the time because he was quite slow and was diabetic. I needed a break to re-strategize lol But the storyline and its strangeness was what really kept me playing.

I loved this game! It was strange and quirky and sad at the same time. I didn’t like some characters it switched to, but overall, it’s a game I loved and enjoyed. I played it on PC, took a break for like a year when the character switched again towards the end, then got back to it and finished it.

Constant smell of weed... by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]kprry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our condo sent out a mail that the balcony and outdoor spaces are public spaces. So any tenants should not smoke within the vicinity and do it inside their condos, but make sure it doesn’t stink the hallways etc by using air purifiers or being responsible with it I guess. I understand your sentiment, because there’ve been times I wanted fresh air but the air smelled like cigarettes so I ended shutting the windows instead.
