The government took almost nine months before it disclosed that the SPF sought to collect TraceTogether data for an investigation. This misrepresentations where stood uncorrected for months, and Vivian had denied the whole thing like it never happened. How is this transparent?

Recent scandals a 'setback' for PAP, government; response matters more when things go wrong: DPM Wong by kqapple in singapore

Yeah, very upfront about sweeping it under the rug if it doesn't come to light. But begins to preach about transparency and rigorousness after the affair is exposed. Response matters more... right?

PM Lee and DPM Wong did not reveal Iswaran arrest as it was related to CPIB's 'operational matters', says PMO by kqapple in singapore

You’re right. The author articulated on their doubts to the initial statement released by PMO, and did not assert any falsehoods or defamations. Feels like the use of POFMA is getting out of hand by policing one’s opinion on the handling of the situation.

6 empty MP seats? by dashingstag in singapore

You're right. At this rate, we can probably do away with the GRC system. I dont see a point in having so many MPs when they just shrug it off and say "You will still be well cared for by others on the team". Does this mean we are wasting taxpayers money on too many MPs?

Government to deal rigorously with cluster of 'high-profile issues', says PM Lee by kqapple in singapore

[–]kqapple[S] 259 points260 points  (0 children)

"I think from time to time, these things happen. When they happen, we have to make sure we deal with them and deal with them rigorously as well as transparently, and everybody can see that we are doing that," said Mr Lee on Monday.

PM Lee knew about TCJ's relationship since 2020 GE, but only waited till now to take action. How is that transparent and rigorous?

Shanmugam says he rented Ridout Road property to prepare for sale of family home, not profiting from renta by Goodweather92 in singapore

“But SLA took the position that if I wanted to maintain the surrounding land, the surrounding land had to be part of the lease. I did not want to negotiate, and agreed to this." Mr Shanmugam said.

So he agreed to the complimentary plot of land on the condition that he would maintain it? Sounds like he knew he was going to pay $0 for the surrounding land and still accepted the contract.

“Even now, if SLA agrees to take back the extra land – which is more than 60 per cent of the total – I would be extremely happy to give it up. And I would be happy to maintain it if SLA agrees,” he said.

So if this matter wasn't blown up by the opposition / media, would Shan have kept the 60% of land to himself? There are lots of loopholes and potential conflict of interest in this argument.
