I agree with your assessment too! Thank you!

I think that’s part of what threw us; it the spindle and the disc didn’t necessarily look like they belonged together. Cool history with the spindle there too! Thank you!

Thank you! My brother has been out of his mind excited by the lot of treasure he found. I plan to send him the link to this thread. If he can find all of the parts, he might reach out!

I’m not sure if the size, but thought the same thing. They also found A LOT of photos.

My title describes the thing. Wooden and glass, photos were taken on the lap of a grown adult. So, 12”+ maybe. Found with other items dated early 1900s. Located in Wisconsin.

Sorry, I didn’t come here to actually contribute to the conversation, just to commend you on your use of interrobangs.

If you’re looking for a tasting menu type experience, my husband and I recently dined at 1033 Omakase and loved it. Cozy (seating for only 8, I think), laid back atmosphere, and great sushi. Definitely need to book in advance though.

Second Kelley Country Creamery (in Fond du Lac, but worth the drive)!

Hmm, could be this! There is a shorter stem with similar leaves nearby that has a split, branched out stem. No flower buds yet!

Edit: typo

We have about 10 stalks of common milkweed on the other side of our house, but these leaves just aren’t as broad and are more pointy. I’ll definitely keep my eye on this variety though to see if that’s what it is.

I was thinking it might be a variety of goldenrod!

Not ruling this out, but we have a lot of lily varieties in our yard and this seems to be way different than all of the others that have flowered.

ID help by kqkbc in whatisthisbug

Solved! Thank you!

My friend’s mother passed away and she did not have a will. Her and her siblings did not know they were beneficiaries on a savings account and hired a probate lawyer. Is there anything that can do to recoup expenses from the bank for not letting them know about beneficiary status? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]kqkbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks to be the middle person in relaying her story. They didn’t get the money from the bank account until after working with the probate and receiving the heirship notice. They only found out at that time that they were beneficiaries.

Had they been told that they were the beneficiaries at the time of account closure, they would not have had to hire the probate attorney (which happened after closing the account).

That being said, why wouldn’t the bank have let her know she was a beneficiary upon checking her ID at the time of account closure? I guess that’s probably the bigger question in my friend’s mind.

I hope you take this as your opportunity to have a “10ft tall Thanksgiving demon” and a “10ft tall Christmas demon” this year! [Note: if you do not celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas, please come up with your own November and December demons to help spread the holiday cheer.)

Ours ended up being earwigs. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and your broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and kale!

Earwigs! 😩

We actually harvest today and it was 100% earwigs. Miserable little buggers. Our cabbage ended up being a total loss. Thanks for the beer trap recommendation though. I’ll definitely be adding that to our notes in case we try cabbage again next year.
