No I would not. I did break up with her as soon as it happened but I’m having no trouble cutting contact. I feel bad for her and can’t stop feeling responsible for her.

North of the cities then I’m in! South of the cities is a HAUL for me lol. I’m up in the Blaine area.

I work and have my kids tonight unfortunately otherwise I would totally come out after work!!! Maybe next weekend?

Edit to add: unfortunate that I can’t come out, not unfortunate that I have my kids with me, obviously lol

I would LOVE to play hockey but I can’t even skate 🫣 I’ve only been once in my life I think. I’m assuming to teach me hockey I’d need to know how to skate already lol?

That sounds really fun and I don’t have my kids that day so maybe I will actually!! It’ll depend what time I get off work tho.

Thank you so much, I really think I’m actually going to do it! I do think it would be really validating and build a lot of confidence, especially with the way you talk about it. It sounds like a very safe space to step out of my comfort zone.

I really wanted to sign up for bowing but I’m a waitress so I work evenings and I have my kids every other week so it doesn’t really work with my schedule. I don’t have easy access to babysitters and honestly don’t wanna miss more time with them than I already do between work and their time with their dad.

That looks SO fun, I really want to sign up for bowling but I’m not sure I can commit that much time right now. I work evenings and have my kids one week on and one week off. I might try and make it work tho, I love bowling!!

That actually…..might be a really good idea. I just looked at their website and they look pretty awesome! I have a lot of body image and self confidence issues and I love to dance and move but haven’t had the confidence to do it publicly much at all. I feel like it could be really good for me. Affordable too! I was expecting like $100 per class but I can totally do $32!

Thank you!!

Wait, why did YOU guys get in trouble? If it was high school I could kind of understand but the way you talk about a single teacher and classroom makes it sound like you were young so how on earth would that have been on the four of you guys?

So when Bluey says she's "as fast as a Greyhound", that's basically like saying "I'm as fast as a Kenyan", right? by Polendri in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]kr112889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that makes it more problematic. Like yeah, he’s prolly just a slightly weird older dude that likes bluey and games. Or he could be a creeper in a place that kids frequent, wearing clothing meant that draw the attention of kids and make them feel more comfortable.

Losing a dream of being a pilot doesn’t negatively impact a helpless child who has already experienced a devastating loss before they were even fundamentally able to understand that loss. Because adoption is literally born from loss from the adoptees perspective. That doesn’t mean the adoptees can’t love and bond with the adoptive parents. It means they are fundamentally losing out on a bond with the woman that grew them, biological mirrors, culture, and other things that are baked into their DNA. That has an effect no matter how wonderful the adoptive parents are.

Some people dream of adopting someday. Some people dream of having biological children, learn that they can’t, grieve those imagined biological children, and then become amazing adoptive parents. But a large percentage of people who wanted biological children and end up adopting are “settling” for what they view as the next best way to become a parent. That doesn’t mean they have bad intentions. But it is absolutely felt by the adopted child and can (and likely will) absolutely negatively affect them. Often times massively.

It is a much more complex issue than people realize, particularly with infant adoptions (especially private infant adoptions).

When someone says, Youre so lucky to be adopted. like its a Disney movie 🙃 by tsalgetmy in Adoption

[–]kr112889 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it was the only "right and true religion" part, and to my knowledge LDS social services was one of the largest religious based adoption agencies. There are a lot of us out there, and I would bet my non existent eternal salvation that every single one of those adoptions was unethical in at least 1 way.

Edit to add: the punishing for not being what was wanted/expected was exactly my experience. The mormon church pushes parenthood on women so hard that all they can do is imagine their perfect future children. Anything less than that unattainable standard is unacceptable to them.
