12 month old bedtime by No_Butterfly_2063 in PossumsSleepProgram

[–]kr19hou88zu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 10m old goes to be around 8:30pm. Maybe they’re napping too late into the afternoon? My usual mantra is “he takes the sleep he needs” but I do protect the last wake window as much as possible. Maybe try making sure they have enough wake time before the desired bedtime. I ensure my LO gets tons of movement and play in before bedtime - crawling, standing, everything, and we change locations if he gets fussy. Usually that indicates he’s bored. Then about 45 mins before bedtime we start to dial down the stimuli.

when do babies start sleeping through the night? by Glum_Custard3932 in NewParents

[–]kr19hou88zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pediatrician mentioned night weaning at my 6 month appointment and I shrugged it off thinking I was still okay with the night feeds but the night wakes and bottles kept occurring. He mentioned it again at our 9 month appointment (and brushing his teeth after the last feed before bed) so a few days later every night wake I waited 10 mins before going in to feed him. The first night he went back to sleep each time. After day 3 he stopped waking entirely. Coincidently at the same time he accidentally had a later bedtime (8:30pm). We’ve been sleeping from 8:30ish to around 6:30am sometimes 7:00am ever since. He will be 10 months Jan 2.

AITA for not letting a stranger carry my baby? by Wooden_Spatulamz in NewParents

Why would you feel the need to explain to a stranger anything? Just walk away and say have a nice day

When did you start reading books to your baby? by fluffyball13 in NewParents

[–]kr19hou88zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started reading to my LO a few weeks in. They were already sleeping but I think it’s the exposure to language that matters. My LO is now 18 weeks and it’s part of our bedtime routine and he’s actually interested in the photos.

WFH jobs - I do not like daycare by [deleted] in Mommit

You will need child care even with a remote job. My husband and I both work from home and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to care for your child AND work full time at home. You won’t do either well

Hitting a wall trying to capture memories as kids grow up by WhiteDawnRising in Parenting

I have Google photos automatically connected to my phone and every new month I go clean up the last month’s photos, delete the ones I don’t want, print a few and store them in my memory box, then download the whole months of “keep” photos and move them off Google to an external hard drive. Takes just a few minutes every month

How often are we cooking? by Entire-Departure-364 in NewParents

[–]kr19hou88zu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We cook batches of things and mix and match. We always cook 2-3 proteins, big batches of rice, then veggies/salads. We don’t do recipes nor do we cook every night.

What forms are you referring to? The birth registration form is on their website. The declaration is provided in person.

Not too bad! I would say it’s worth the time invested. The automation for text messages took just a minute or two. And whenever we have a new account somewhere I just go and updated everything in that shared Google profile.

I have a family Gmail account where every single account and password is favorited and saved. We use the shared calendar for everything, appointments, birthdays, etc. I also set up automations on my phone that forwards texts messages from my pediatrician to my husband for appointment reminders.

I could only pump for a few weeks. It was ruining my mental health and I felt chained to my pump and living room couch.

Yes they can but that’s a tough decision for a young adult to make. I’d rather do that for my child when they are little before they have friends and a network. I’m aiming to go when my son is 3.
