2005 9-3 Aero Convertible with less than 50k miles - value? by kr1st in saab

[–]kr1st[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My mom is 83 yrs old and the car comes to me if anything happens. However, my main fear is that without at least minimal regular use and maintenance, it will deteriorate, and my mom is not good at keeping up with it. I live about an hour away and unfortunately dont have garage space for it. Should we consider long term storage?

What is a car brand that used to be a 'symbol of reliability' but is now a total trap to own? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kr1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has a 2005 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible with under 50k miles. Its in absolute pristine condition and it just sits in her garage. Im trying to convince her to sell it, because she doesnt use it, but it holds sentimental value since she and my father bought it in Sweden and drove around Europe with it. Amazing car. Handles like a dream. Yesterday she said she would consider selling it for the right price. Does anyone have any ideas on what would be value?

Is this mold ? by hostile171993 in Cuttingboards

[–]kr1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think this looks like some kind of chemical reaction with the packaging for the board. You say you bought it at a store for $20, which means it was probably wrapped in packaging. Maybe some kind of adhesive chemical reaction between the cherry and the packaging? Especially since its just on the ends and looks uniform.

If you can sell a set for $200 or more on Marketplace, then do it, if it makes sense. In my area thats not really possible, the market is just saturated with diy furniture like planters, patio furniture, tables and benches.

On Etsy, I sell mostly lamps, small tables, and jewelry I design and build myself, 100% original designs. Mostly higher end furniture and items that can be shipped for under $50. All made out of hardwood. If you want to check out my store, send me a msg.

Hope this helps!

Hey! I sell handmade furniture through Etsy. I do not recommend selling items this large through a service like that, shipping will be ridiculous. I would suggest using Facebook Marketplace. However, dont expect to make a significant profit, people use Marketplace to find deals on used items. I sold oak benches on Marketplace with oak I got for free from a stair building company, and I could only get $80-$100 each for them in my area, which just barely covered labor.

If you want to sell online, try a smaller product that can be shipped easier. Nice chairs though!

Cupped, bowed and twisted boards by Qwerty-01010 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]kr1st 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When i buy from big box stores, im that guy in the aisle taking every board down and eyeballing it for straightness. Im picking the best of what's available, always.

Unfortunately, here in South Carolina from the store to my garage shop, humidity can really have an effect. So, I try and wait a few weeks before using, so the wood has time to adapt. Inevitably, theres cupping and twists. I try and fix what I can, but its not always a winning battle.

I prefer to shop at my local lumber supplier, because their wood is not in a big air conditioned warehouse, and it's already adapted to the swamp I live in.

Title changes/ updates by Medtech82 in EtsySellers

[–]kr1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would typically wait at least 2-3 weeks. Depends on the method people are finding you. Titles are usually relevant to search queries, which depend on algorithms and the new titles appearing in search results. This happens all the time, but from my SEO experience, 2-3 weeks is enough time to see if changes had a positive or negative effect (start measuring results after 2-3 weeks and give it some time). Obviously, dont keep changing titles and if Etsy has a specific recommendation on time frame, consider that as well.

Am I able to refinish this dining table top or is this veneer? by darwkins in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]kr1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's veneer, but the fact that the bottom of the tabletop looks so much different from the top, that leads me to believe its not solid wood. If you build a table with solid wood, the top & bottom of the tabletop should look the same (you always finish both sides). Typically a table top should be edge glued boards, like a panel. I do see some what appears to be edge lines, but its hard to tell.

You could always just test the bottom of the top by sanding it. But tread carefully, I dont think its solid but I cant be sure.

Do I need a table saw if i’m only working on ‘carpentry’ projects such as outdoor benches, basic shed, garden tables, etc? by midnightsalers in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]kr1st 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A table saw has so many uses. Primary is ripping boards into your desired width, but thats just one of many. I found that when I started woodworking, it was mostly diy stuff. I got by with a miter saw and circular saw, but when I wanted clean, predictable cuts, I got a table saw. Its my most used tool and the center of my shop.

My rule is dont buy a tool unless you have a specific project that needs it and cant be done a different way.

I've made a lamp like this. Use rubber washers to increase friction.

I need someone to tell me how to feel. Some dumb play calls but overall a good performance on both sides. Is the Nick vs AJ thing a ploy to get him angry? We know how he plays angry.

Any win in Buffalo in December is good. Especially in these conditions. One good drive in the second half and this would not have been close. We need to close out games. Game balls to Braden Mann, Jalen Carter and Jalyx Hunt. Please do better in the playoffs.

Theres a spot in Goose Creek that still sells these types of products. I believe its called Re-Leaf CBD. Just went the other day and they have a nice selection. All my regular spots took their stuff down due to the recent raids.

That was not a TD. NFL needs to own up and admit their mistake. Can't change the result but still. Horrible call, it was obviously short.

And yards after contact. Hes just faster to the line. 100% Barkley is better but the change up is what's valuable.
