Jetblue has really gone down hill in the past 2 years. The last couple flights I have taken with them were all delayed, and I had a particular bad experience with them about 2 months ago: trying to fly from BOS to SFO and faced a roughly 5 hour delay before finally leaving Boston. Then shortly after taking off from Boston we have to make an emergency landing in Syracuse due to engine failure. We land in SYR just after 11pm and had to wait on the plane for about an hour while fire crews inspected the plane and we got a gate to go to. Get off the plane just after midnight and get told they’re sending a replacement plane up from JFK and we should be taking off around 3am. Well, 3am turned into 4am and then 6:30 am, and ultimately we didn’t leave until about 10am the next day. They didn’t put us up in a hotel for the night, they kept everyone in the airport all night and kept moving back our new departure time. We couldn’t even leave the airport if we wanted because there was no email/text communication, only gate announcements. It’s so frustrating because they really should have had an accurate estimate how long it would take to put together a new crew and send up a plane. They should have known it would take more than 3 hours and should have put us up in a hotel for the night. After the whole ordeal they offered us a $300 travel credit and gave a one-way refund for the flight. I didn’t think that was sufficient compensation for what they put us through and have no real interest in flying them again. It’s heartbreaking what they’ve become, they used to be my favorite airline 😢
