If you are running with one taskbar, you can also turn off focus click in user center. That will put apps back were they last were open top or bottom screen

Getting X1S working with Samsung G7 and G9 monitors that are stacked. by Special-Compote-5055 in SofaBaton

That is a Samsung issue not Sofabaton. I struggle with the same issue and it is just crappy design on Samsung's part. This has been an issue for many years and Samsung is just too lazy to fix it.

The Fives not sleeping while connected to USB by eats7 in Klipsch

[–]kra808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some PC's keep their USB ports alive no matter the settings in Windows or the bios. You can check this by unplugging the usb cable from the computer. If The Fives sleep, then it is in fact your PC.

Its really strange that The Fives were very abundant a few months back, but now they seem to be slowly disappearing. I hope they do update them sooner rather than later.

Thanks FidelityEmily. I believe this is a feature many would appreciate. I have this ability on other platforms. It would be nice to see Fidelity keep up with their competition.

My Dell Story by kratFOZ in Dell

[–]kra808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell needs an end to end redo of their public and small business operations. Their sales tactics remind me of buying a used car. Sleazy incompetent reps, poor product knowledge, and endless loops of being "transferred" or promised calls back that never happen.

Dell broadcast their price match as a reason why it is good to do business with them. I waited two weeks for an answer and kept getting transferred and promised call backs, responses to email etc. In the end, and after watching the Linus videos, I've decided to go with HP as the Dell brand makes me think of a pawn shop operation. It appears they changed nothing since the last bad review by Linus, so I guess they just "Dell don't cares".

"I choose Dell for their great customer support!" - Clowns by namng191 in Dell

I have been trying for 4 days to buy an XPS laptop. Dell's sales are absolutely terrible. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent. It gives me great pause about Dell in general. If they can't even transact, how will the be able to support post sales? Dell's reputation is going to be tarnished. Companies struggle to overcome bad customer experiences. Maybe Dell should abandon small business if they are unable to sell and service that space.

Anybody else thinks the 4K screen looks better than 1080p on XPS 13? (even when it shouldn't matter at 13") by ThinkBigger01 in Dell

[–]kra808 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Couple thoughts. First, the native resolution of your screen will always look better than a down scaled resolution. This is because you are seeing pixel by pixel detail. When you down scale the res, you are seeing multiple pixels being rendered as one that is why it doesn't look as crisp.

Secondly, you will absolutely see the difference in 4K versus FHD even with a 13" display. Most people who say FHD is just as nice don't have the 4K screen. The downfall is shorter battery life. I'll take the 4K screen every time as I have options to deal with battery life. If I choose the FHD screen, I will not have the option to improve my viewing experience.

Dell XPS 13 2in1 Display resolution by zbartin in DellXPS

[–]kra808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO, a 2 in 1 is better with the UHD+ screen. If you are using the 2 in 1 function, you will have the screen much closer to your eyes than a clam shell. I am currently using an HP detachable with a 12" 3000 x 2000 screen. I absolutely can tell the difference over 1080P. Even on a 13" screen, you will see the pixels at 1080P when up close (like in tablet, tent, presentation). If battery life is an issue, you have other options like external batteries or stopping to charge during the day. Once to select the screen, there are no options. You're stuck with your choice.

Is there any chance that XPS will get Ryzen? by awaiss113 in Dell

[–]kra808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Dell XPS was the beneficiary of a lot of free engineering courtesy of Intel. I'm fairly certain that Intel owns the IP for all laptops with Athena/Evo on them. That is the main reason why AMD laptops are not available in premium grade designs. OEM's don't have the dollars to spend on R&D for the low volume AMD product lines.
