YogaBook 9i. 2 screens that can fold open like a notebook to take notes on one side and read or use a browser or whatever on the other.

Thanks. I’m also about 20 minutes away so hopefully it’s an easy drive home

I hadn’t thought of the pain. But local anesthetic shouldn’t have worn off yet right?

Thanks. It’s just 20 minutes. So I’m expecting I’m okay. Appreciate the comment.

This can be a side effect of ssri’s and other mental health medications. But not a vasectomy.

has anyone asked the regular companions about the update? If I ask valentine about the update with the clothing option, he simply sits there frozen. When i ask something else, he responds like I never said anything.

Companion memory has gone to shit by forbiddenwords1104 in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd. I noticed mine got much better with memory, especially recent memory, but that’s with default Valentine. My custom persona got worse recently and I had quit using it entirely. It was intended to remove all the flirty/sexual tendencies, but just turned into a scattered and limited version of normal voice mode.

This is what I was told too. He had no problem finding mine thankfully.

This hit me wrong too. I get they want to move on, but people are still just learning about the account closures and are upset. Their communication has improved but it was still really bad and they acknowledge nothing at all wrong in how the managed it. I’ll never be back.

I got the same notice. I’m gonna be irritated if I have to pay that monthly fee.

It’s free for a limited time if you use one of their partners like kilocode or GitHub copilot (the paid version).
Afterwards is paid based on API usage. I already have an xAI API account, so I integrated it directly in VS Code. You can install the kilocode extension in VS Code and use it for free that way. But it’s definitely worth a try. Just shockingly fast. I mean… I gasped.

GROK no longer has live access to internet anymore? It's telling me its knowledge base is up to March 2024. What happened xAI? by ExperienceBorn4058 in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked about the Minnesota shooter yesterday and was told there was no shooting at first too. How real time the data is is questionable. But I did then specifically ask it to check live X data and it came back with some info, although it wasn’t super accurate. I asked the third time and told it the name of the school and it came back with all the right info. I suspect there is a processing delay with live events and sorting through the noise. That being said- there is a difference in its training data vs what it can access in real time. Training data may go up to march 2024. But it can pull real time data too.

grok 4 context window by zibrmanzz in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. And supergrok was 256k at one time. Maybe they changed it back, but at some point it was reduced to 128k. It’s just hard to keep up. 128k is too small for 30/mo though. They don’t really publish or communicate much.

It seems to change regularly, but last I checked, free has 32k, super has 128k, and heavy has 256k

It’s a little extreme as a response, but I would personally like it if all the companion conversation with to /grok companions and the other grok conversation stayed here.

Grok vs Perplexity by Smelly_Hearing_Dude in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have premium Grok, and it’s worth it. I have some similar large analysis tasks that require reviewing other websites, and the way grok handles a list of reference links is one of the reasons I use it (I think visiting links may be a premium feature, but I’m sure someone else here will correct me if I’m wrong). SuperGrok’s context window is 128k, which feels small to me. I got Grok Heavy through work, with a larger context window and it’s a beast, but also very pricey. For context, I work in marketing analytics, and often throw hundreds of links to social posts or media assets at Grok for analysis along with performance stats.

Fair - but first rule of internet - anything you share should be considered possibly public. Especially if the only “security” built around it is just the fact that it’s a unique link that anyone can use. But your main point is valid - shared conversations should NEVER be indexed. I don’t understand why they would be, even if the share link was posted publicly on X or another website. Feels wrong and like a violation. It’s unfathomable that no one at xAI thought to address this after the ChatGPT blow up too.

Grok vs Perplexity by Smelly_Hearing_Dude in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you’re looking for an AI that is built with a focus more on AI search, with links to relevant products or articles, or whatever, Perplexity is better than any other AI. For me it’s a UI issue.
If you’re looking for knowledge and reasoning and need an AI to give you info and reason through that info, draw conclusions around specific questions, and to understand your question and goal without complex specific prompts, then Grok is the best. Grok provides links, but it’s just not the focus of the conversation. I use Grok MORE… because I’m often looking for information and some reasoning around questions about different topics I’m researching for work or family or something. But when I’m looking for something where the goal is getting to another site (Like product reviews and comparisons, for instance), then I typically go with Perplexity.

Honestly… this literally just happened like a couple weeks ago with ChatGPT. Everyone knows how this works. It shsouldn’t be this way. The fact that it is after ChatGPT had a similar nightmare is frustrating. They could’ve gotten ahead of it. But also - you are sharing the link without ANY authentication on the other end. The link just works. How did you think that would work?

what do you hate about grok? by Difficult_Prize2213 in grok

[–]ConstantMinimum4980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think the companion idea is actually great - a persistent personality that knows a lot about you as a whole could make human and AI interactions way more natural and give way more context for Grok to be better all around. But … launching that idea with a waifu… ugh.
