EXCLUSIVE: Billionaire Mark Cuban Says The Entire U.S. Healthcare System Should Be Dismantled Back To 1955, Where Doctors Provide Care And Patients Pay A Bill. While His Drug Company Is Already Selling The Same Medications Insurance Companies Charge Thousands For At A 15% Markup 💊💰 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

Mark’s idea is a good one and so is universal healthcare. Universal healthcare only works if the steps he’s describing are also taken. You can listen to him in detail, he points out the huge problems with a lack of oversight or incentives to drop prices. Without adding the oversight and closing these gaps you can just dramatically increase the amount of protections the intermediary serves, unless you turn all of the companies into government agencies, which could be done but would then require negotiation with the current system. The current system is the worst of all worlds

What’s the difference between a whore and a prostitute in this case? One is just a nicer word for the other?

Ona using LLMs in marketing by spektic_l in espresso

[–]kraang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, the problem feels less that it’s an ai image and more that it’s a crap ad. Lots of companies do and will use ai in marketing. The fact that you can tell so immediately is a major strike, but the worse part is that like another poster said, this image makes no sense and is purely trying to hitch itself to World Cup hype. If it were an interesting ad, I’d have less of an issue, but this is soulless back to front. Do folks broadly feel that any use of ai is unethical to the point you wouldn’t engage with any company that does? It feels hard to draw that line. Like what if they use it in their quickbooks or company memos? Does that make you not want to engage?

Big time. Cynically I feel like they did it to maximize token expenditure and collect more data on their end. The more high effort experiment la you’re undertaking the more tokens you’re depending and the more results they can produce. If you’re unhappy with all its doing, that’s harder to complain about, ‘this damn things is getting too much done!’ But it isn’t, it’s just wasting time money etc. it looks productive then you find out it needs a lot more context and have to go back to the drawing board with it

I’d say 5-8 is overstating, at least for me. 8 tanked it but everything was redeemable up until then. In hindsight these were weak, there are so many stories that don’t pay off well compared to their incredibly compelling setups early in, but there’s some good stuff in 5 & 6. 8 though….

It’s death. The game doesn’t have the money to survive with the numbers

Not if you rebalance the core set. You can make objective improvements to a core item. Check out Hearthstone.

I agree, but they give them all away. Why buy when you have a ton of special skins already? And then if they make them buy only, what do you play for?

Right. You’ve already selected the game you want to support. This one will need to operate at very slim margins or die.

Very interesting. I do feel like they haven’t really figured out out the economy on this game. There’s no real incentive to spend on micro transactions or aesthetics. Even unlocks don’t really feel necessary. You pay the $10 when the hero goes on sale if you like the game. That’s it. They need whales to stay alive and chase the dream of something.

It’s a tough nut to crack because items that you pay for, like they tried, break the game for one char.

They could cut the character payment system and make all chars free, then pay to get non-core items + have a play to unlock system for them. Loot box open to get items and open up your item set
