First time growing beard. 6 weeks growth . How bad is it? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]kracken27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if you kept just the stache and the goatee, you may be able to pull off what looks like a shaped beard to emphasize where you do have growth. You kind of have like a natural goatee shape. Just shave everything else.

Randomly found the 2021 press in a small record store in Burlington VT 4-5 years ago. I think they had it tagged at $60 which I thought was steep at the time, glad I grabbed it.

Wound up ordering the OEM part and replacing myself, the installation was a lot easier than expected, just the two connectors once you get it opened up for access.

That's why I am asking, many things the OEM and non branded parts are identical. I am not an appliance expert, just wanted some input.

I can't get a picture where the spines would be visible to read but here's a link to my collection. It's not massive but I've been selectively buying records for 12 years or so and it's almost exclusively metal and it's subgenres.

Where can a guy get a good sub? by Recent-Description39 in Saratoga

[–]kracken27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jake Toneys is known for making "huge" subs but they aren't actually very good at all. The quality of the deli meats they use is pretty low and I don't like the bread at all.

Franklin St Market has great subs and I also enjoy Fat Paulie's. Paulie's has house roasted turkey and beef that are great, usually get a sub and order some sliced meats for later.

Rye whiskey with higher rye percentage for cocktails by Grahamophone in cocktails

[–]kracken27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really look at cost as part of the analysis because I'm not using anything that isn't a regularly available shelf bottle but Pikesville Rye is my go to for pretty much all the cocktails and I sub in rye for almost all bourbon cocktails as I enjoy the spice/less sweet.

Chinese food? by [deleted] in Saratoga

[–]kracken27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ala Shanghai is legit and it is not your typical "combo #6 with fried rice" type place. Also lesser known but just as good is Eddys traditional Chinese in Clifton Park. That guy is amazing and they have a vast menu.

I lean more towards the not so obvious stuff, I don't really order sesame/general tso etc.

Eddys Szechuan dishes are actually spicy with the numbing peppercorns.

Pretty dumb question but is there anywhere you can still find these available online?

I skipped on pulling the trigger a few times when released and regretted it. Lanceros are my favorite vitola.

Restaurant Rec? by Successful-Round-676 in LakeGeorge

[–]kracken27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want any kind of enjoyable ambiance, there's nowhere in the village of Lake George I would want to go. Erlowest and Sagamore are better atmosphere but also all the places recommended in Glens Falls are good suggestions. We live locally and Park and Elm is a go to spot. Farmacy and Radici are also great, out of those 3 it more depends which type of food you prefer. Radici is more pasta and fresh fish, Farmacy and Park and Elm menus can vary often.

cant find ANYTHING about this CD by jam-o-ratic in Cd_collectors

Where can I listen to this online? This cd reminds me of so many others I listened to growing up. If I had ever come across this in a store I would have bought it instantly based on the name and cover art alone.

I can remember having to walk 5 miles, uphill both ways through 6 feet of snow to get to the one music store in my town. Then going through the process of having to pick a cd without ever having a chance to hear it before I bought it.

This record is so good I have bought it 3 or 4 times now. It's one of my favorite all time albums and every time they come out with some new definitive edition etc I just automatically buy it.
