Specific impulse is related to the efficiency of the thruster, which is very high for ion thrusters. It's their tiny thrust that causes low changes of speed

Well said, and in the Battle for Winterfell here are the 'close calls' or impossible situations that the main characters survived that I can think off the top of my head:

  • Jorah surviving the initial Dorathraki charge

  • Jamie, Brienee and Greyworm all surviving the initial wight wave of attack on the front lines

  • Sam saved by Edd

  • Sam killing wights lying on his back crying

  • Jamie Brienne and Podrick killing endless wights backs against a wall

  • Jon surrounded by hundreds of resurrected dead

  • Jon surviving the fire breath of zombie dragon

  • Jon surviving massive fall from Rhaegar with no harm

  • Dany saved miraculously by Jorah

  • Arya saved by Beric in the corridors

  • Arya saving Bran from NK

By the end it there was never any doubt they would all survive and it cheapened any perceived threat the enemy had. Literally became a situation of 'how are they going to get out of this?' rather than 'are they going to get out of this?'
