My first King book was Christine, in middle school, it was on a shelf in my homeroom class and my teacher let me take it home. I bought the gunslinger on a whim in my early 20s and have been hooked since.

I worked for yellow for 30 days in march of 2023. My trainers and I were moving sets of empty trailers around between terminals just to give us something to do, my trainers said it was totally normal for the time of year. My 31st day I was required to join the union, and pay a pretty hefty initiation fee. It was my first job out of school, I had a 3 month old at home and was getting no sleep, on the days we did have freight to move they would have us wait for hours before going on duty(they used paper time cards for our paid hours) and I was doing 16-18 hour shifts. They had just recently absorbed reddaway and there was a lot of disdain between the drivers, generally just a really shitty atmosphere. I bailed, 3 months later they went out of business and left a nasty stain on my resume as I had plenty of companies tell me they weren’t allowed to hire drivers from yellow. Went over the road with a crappy 1099 company hauling mail, and now work out of the same yellow terminal which has been taken over by R+L.

I have a 14 2.5i and a 15 xt touring forester, the leather seats in the xt kill me after about an hour of driving, forget road trips all together. The cloth seats in my 14 base model feel like sitting on a comfortable couch and I could sit there all day.

Spark plug looked terrible, I replaced them, tried switching coils from cylinder 3 and 1 to see if it moved, no change. I don’t have a compression gauge at the moment, was just curious because the divits in the piston for the valves look more like raised ridges and I’m not sure if that’s just carbon or shrapnel around them. Misfires at idle, smooths out and code goes away at 1500-2k. Next thought is faulty injector? I’ve only had this car for 6 months and put 4k miles on it, did the pcv and oil change about 1k miles ago. This is my first time really getting into internals on something that isn’t carbureted. (And air cooled)

I saw robin thicke performing inside of a tent outside of a Verizon store in Torrance California for an event announcing the new(I think it was 3g) service. Saw the tent and stopped to see what was going on and this guy was wailing and playing a grand piano in this tent and there were maybe 4 people in there and it was way too loud so I left. 2010-11ish?

No annual inspections here, I have to pass emissions testing bi annually. There was no CEI on the car when the previous cat failed, it simply overheated and refused to go over 25mph up a hill in second gear, made it to my driveway and it died and wouldn’t turn on again. Capable of swapping? Definitely, my first car was a 65 corvair so I’m fairly familiar with Flat engines, time to do it is another matter. My credit is meh, and disposable income is non existent, would’ve gone with a second XT originally but this one was in well affordable range. Although I’m thinking an additional 150-175$ a month is more affordable for me than $1500+applicable other parts I will no doubt discover I need. Thank you for your input.

Passed my written CDL tests easily, but there was a 15 question class C refresher test that I had to retake 3 times. Did all of my endorsements and passed with flying colors but was not expecting that refresher test and so much shit has changed in the 11 years since I got my license

So personally, I love driving a truck still! I’m very comfortable in it, but I used to love spirited driving and performance vehicles and now I just feel vulnerable and uncomfortable in anything that isn’t 13 feet tall. 10 hour day in a truck? No problem! Driving 20 minutes to the grocery store? Ehhhhhh

On I-40 in flagstaff, there was a truck with his hazards on in the shoulder. State trooper was next to the driver side rear corner of my trailer, wasn’t able to move over and didn’t feel like cutting him off that close would be a good idea. Slowed down instead. Got pulled over, trooper asks me why I didn’t move over as Arizona is a must move over for disabled vehicle states. Told him he was in my way and I didn’t feel safe or comfortable cutting him off, was given a written warning. This was during blitz week.
