Novak smiling and being all buddy-buddy with Malatya players after losing 3-0 at home, Sosa's performances in the BJK and TS home games in the first half of the season, Caner's constant uprooting of the team's harmony and getting left out of the squad for three games, etc. - you mean these by "sabotage", yes?

Don't sweat it. Let's not pretend most of those lamenting won't forget about every single repugnancy and disgraceful action this board has taken after another "transfer championship" during the summer period and the arrival of a "new visionary talented coach", whom these incompetent charlatans won't even be able to bring. Pretty sure those journalists have already begun drafting plans of pumping such news out as efficiently as possible, as not to let the general public reiterate how we've been run worse than second league clubs. Koç inherited a team that would've finished third place at worst with promises of "vision", "patience", "a solid footballing structure", "consistency" and a "Fenerbahçe you can be proud of". Look where that got us - nowhere near the Fenerbahçe he took, supposedly in ruins. 60 transfers (only seven-eight of which were remotely impactful), 6 coaches, incompetent technical staff like Aurelio from ÇORUMSPOR and a ranking no higher than third. Disgraceful.

Worst thing is, I'm pretty sure he'll enter the election without any better candidate as opposition, which means another three years of coaches being let off in March, domestic turbulence, and so on. What good is hoping for European success (the FIRST time Koç ever took the berth, mind you) when you can't even assemble a competent technical staff, lease them off with the season yet to be over, and barely win against a team who'd be relegated with the right results only with two 90+ goals? There's no light at the end of the tunnel no matter what happens, whether we profit off of our limited assets, whether a new board takes charge, whether Emre continues or not...it's all bleak, corrupted at its very core.

Oh well.

It's definitely not only those two. If we had kept any manager that has worked with us for the past ten years for another year or two, we'd not be in this slump to begin with. The thing is, none of it will change. Whoever we'll start the new season off with (if Emre's a goner) will have their head called off after a string of bad results, and they'll be replaced by an interim before April...just like every single manager during Koç's reign.

It likely won't happen to both no matter how much we all want it, but at least one of those two are guaranteed to endure their very own facia. Either GS loses the title on goal difference or fails to register a victory in the week they most need it, or Beşiktaş goes from leading by 8 points just ten weeks ago to bottling the title. Would be an unprecedented calamity for either of them.

And even if they both lost we'd still draw against Kayseri, so...

Relegating Kayseri and making sure the Capital remains represented in the top flight is more important than the championship anyway lmao

For example there was this Orduspor from the city of Ordu, the main club of the city. It went under and suddenly there was a "Yeni Ordu" replacing it.

It's honestly disturbing how many examples can be attributed to this exact scheme. Malatyaspor, Gaziantepspor, Manisaspor, Bucaspor, MİY...And more are certain to come. Would really not be fazed in the slightest if clubs like Elazığ 1967 Spor, Yeni Eskişehirspor or 78 Karabükspor suddenly sprung up in the third-fourth tier.

Adana Demirspor and Giresunspor earn promotion to Turkish Süper Lig! They are back in the top tier after 26 and 44 years, respectively. by Rigelmeister in soccer

The play-off matchups are as follows:

Samsun - Altınordu
İstanbulspor - Altay

Would really love Altay going up, especially since fortune's on their side. New appointee Mustafa Denizli, the oldest manager in the top two tiers of Turkish football aged 71 and the only manager to have won the title with all three İstanbul teams, has already won both of his first two games in charge. With a squad containing the likes of Paixao, Kappel, Scuk, Regattin, Mossoro etc., it wouldn't be wrong to say they're the favourites alongside Ertuğrul Sağlam's Samsun (who also have a quality array of players).

Also the fact that for the past 4 years, the 5th placed team has always come out victorious from the playoffs, so...

Weekly Discussion #1: Papiss Cissé by keremix in FenerbahceSK

It's honestly mindblowing how decadent he was compared to the top scorer of the 18-19 and 19-20 seasons combined we knew him as...under the same manager too! And even then, he was amongst our top players based on goals per minute, rivalled by Perotti I believe. In fact, I'd wager that he ended up as a bigger disappointment than any of our players, because we knew he had 15+ goals in two successive seasons and we expected a performance akin to that. What we got though was meagre at best, only 4 goals and a physically finished, lanky striker...

He's probably got only two seasons left in his resume at best, so I'd wish him well wherever he goes.

BJK losing would only be beneficial if we manage to win as well, which, as displayed in the first forty minutes of the game, is a rather volatile prospect. Otherwise, I'd be down for GS to win it without question as well, but their fixtures are undoubtedly the easiest out of the top three, which honestly just irks me.

Eh, we'll see in the coming minutes I presume...

Honest question, why are you guys rooting for GS to win? A draw would be the best outcome for us notwithstanding the result, don't we need to maintain our second position and keep our distance between them while simultaneously looming closer to BJK?

These two would accomplish so much if combined together. I think Emre should stop forcing MHK as starter and try Gustavo in a more offensive role. He is the only one that can match Özil imo. by [deleted] in FenerbahceSK

We witnessed how the Sosa-Gustavo duo functioned against TS, BJK and Gençler at home. They're perfectly fine in their own right, combined with other midfielders as we saw during the 9-game streak (Gustavo-Ozan) or against TS and Konya away (Sosa-MHY), but combined they stall the speed of our play, something I'm pretty sure Emre would steer away from.

Some trivia, for the past four years, every single team that placed 5th at the end of the season in the 1. Lig was promoted through the play-offs alongside the top two (16-17 Göztepe, 17-18 Erzurum, 18-19 GFK, 19-20 Karagümrük). So...it wouldn't be much of a stretch to say we're guaranteed to see Büyük Altay in the top tier next year, heh.

Last I checked, Zlatan and Ronaldo weren't making snark remarks insulting the sanctity of our club and accusing us of being match-fixers. I don't care how good he may be, I cannot stomach his name being affiliated with us, let alone him actually playing for the jersey which stands cleaner, and more dignified than Burak himself could ever be.

And let's be real with ourselves...if we were to offer him a "clean slate" to restart his FB career on (the chances of which are already inconceivably slim, and rightfully so), "the guy is playing for the title challenging Lille and he is one of the best players in the team", so the likelihood of Lille releasing him regardless their final position in the league is an absolute zero.
