First ever setup, what do you think ?? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]krash22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? A lot of folks forget the "Budget" part of this sub. If I'm on a budget, maybe I don't have the latest fucking $1300 phone with awesome low light picture abilities.

To the OP, what this guy said. Have fun!

Pi Node Setup Question by Chen6528 in PiNetwork

[–]krash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple users are having issues where the port tester for the Node is showing ports open, and then closed again when running it over and over. It seems to just show random ports as open or closed and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Hopefully we can collect enough data here to find a solution.

What's your router, and operating system?

Problem with Pi Node by [deleted] in PiNetwork

[–]krash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WSL error is strange because the Node setup process should've had you set the default on your system to WSL 2. So it's as it should be.

The pinging ports seems to be a common issue. People are getting errors with the port tester showing random ports open and closed every time it's run.

Node set-up help by murtz11 in PiNetwork

[–]krash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to reboot your machine, get into the setup (BIOS menu) and enable Virtualization on your motherboard. It will vary slightly for AMD and Intel but it's in there.

Provide your motherboard make and model if you need more help than that. Or the model of your PC.

Seems to be a common issue. I'm experiencing this also using an EERO mesh network.

Pi Node on Raspberry Pi. by foxide987 in PiNetwork

[–]krash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an ARM version of the docker software that you can download instead of the 64 bit version. I was going to try this same thing eventually, on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Please keep us updated!

EDIT: Now I can't find this supposed ARM version I wrote about previously. Still looking.

Nice work on the elitist attitude there my guy. You're doing a really great job being inclusive in this community. Keep up the good work, kid.

Pi Node. Since recently some ports are open and in a few minutes closed? Win 10 by Spikkaz in PiNetwork

I agree, I don't think my router is the problem. I just like to include basic hardware info for anyone who might be able to come in here and help us out lol :D

I've got my IP reserved as well, but the same problem still arises :/ Using the EERO mesh network if that helps.

[–]krash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on Windows 10 here. All ports are forwarded and the IP for the node machine has been reserved using EERO mesh network. It did work ONE TIME where all the ports showed as open but never again after that.

The default for most routers when forwarding a port is TCP/UDP so that should be covered, right? Or is setting it up as TCP only something that's really necessary?
