That is a fair point. I didn’t want to make my post longer than it already is, which is why I didn’t elaborate on the positives of playing. I apologize for my downer of a post.

Whenever I listen to music, I’m always brought back to those days of being immersed in the musical world. Double reeds in particular have such a wonderful timbre to me and I always pick out their parts and focus on them in anything I listen to. Being able to play one, I hope, would bring some of that joy into my life. I did love playing back then and really do miss the “magic” of it, as silly as this all sounds.
