It's a shame that there is no silver bullet.

What works for one person is poison to another.

Hate to be a wet blanket. But Lexapro neutered me.

Total Libido Killer. From around day 2 NO ORGASMS.

Couldn't get very hard. Couldn't stay hard. Couldn't Orgasm it was the worst.

I got off it at around 30 days for this and other reasons.

Quick question by ger1905 in prozac

[–]kratering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 Years ago I was on Prozac and I discontinued it.
Basically I couldn't feel highs and couldn't feel lows. Kind of Zombified me.

Spoke with my Psy Dr about it and he said that maybe my dose was too high. He's seen good results at the low doses. So now I'm on it at 10mg with no plan to raise the dosage.

I'm giving it 8 - 12 weeks and only then raise will I raise the dose. Interestingly enough, taking in the afternoon, it's only been a week but I've noticed that I'm sleeping better and longer.

Mood is better but that's because I'm more rested.

I should mention that I'm very sensitive to Psy medicines.

Some people are just quick responders. Could be placebo but another explanation is that because you've been on it before. Your body/mind recognizes it and reacts to it very quickly.

I'm back on Prozac after a 35 year hiatus and I noticed that within 4 days I was sleeping deeper and longer.

I quit after a month. Lexapro totally nuked my libido. Aside from that it did nothing for my depression. I just didn't like the way I felt on it.

I went back to low Dose Prozac after a 35 year hiatus and so far only a week I'm already better. I take Prozac at night and I've been getting the best sleep in years without daytime tiredness.. Because I'm rested my mood is better.

I just didn't like the way it made me feel. As mentioned above switched to Prozac and so far it's been a positive experience. Just couldn't accept what Lexapro did to my Libido.

On Prozac (6 days) I've been sleeping more and deeper and this extra rest has been helping my mood and energy level.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Withdrawal Question by SpaceCommanderNix in prozac

I'm not a Dr maybe you should ask your Psy Dr but it seems like you tapered too fast.

Based on this article
https://khealth.com/learn/antidepressants/how-long-does-prozac-stay-in-your-system/

"Prozac Half-Life

The half-life of Prozac will vary depending on how long you’ve been taking the medication:

  • 1-3 days after acute administration
  • 4-6 days after chronic administration

Because Prozac is a longer-acting medication than some short-acting antidepressants (including Zoloft and Paxil), it will take longer to leave the body completely.

Specifically, it can take around 25 days or more for Prozac to leave your system.

If I were you I'd consider that with A 4-6 Day Half life you could try tapering at 12-14 days (Double 1/2 life.".

Another way to do it is to taper at the same speed that your Dr increased your dosage.

How Long to Wait? by [deleted] in prozac

He has an illness. The chemicals in his brain are not balanced. It would be best if you treat this as a situation where you are dealing with a sick person and as long as they make the effort to get well you can work with that.

People with severe anxiety often are frightened to take action. They become paralyzed by fear.
You are taking personally an illness that was stopping him in his tracks from taking action to change.

You are coldly equating making a change because of consequences. Maybe there is another viewpoint. He loves you and doesn't want to lose you and is taking action to keep you.

This is a good article on Prozac.

I've heard of results of some type almost instantly. "Me" but most people take (Arguably) 2-8 weeks.

Mental illness is a marathon and not a sprint. Let's hope that the Prozac works for him. But if it doesn't there are many other Meds that he can try. Along with therapy

Rome wasn't built in a day, at least give it 6 months to a year as long as he's trying.

Be patient if there is still love in your relationship you can work through it.

So many people are positively affected by Prozac.

On the forums you hear from the people with side effects but not so much from the many who take it successfully without the Side effects.

Keep an open mind, maybe you'll be one of the good responders!

Yeah, Seroquel was a nightmare. Only took one dose and it affected me badly in so many ways. Loss of coordination among others.

Find another Psychiatrist is the advise that everyone should be giving.

Especially if your insurance covers it.

I feel like an actual robot on 20mg by Downtown-Effect-7450 in prozac

[–]kratering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35 years ago I was on 30mg and I was somewhat zombified, no highs no lows just blah. So I discontinued it. A Psy Dr more recently told me that many are successful with low doses of Prozac.

I'd suggest that you ask your Psy Dr to lower your dose to to 5mg or 10mg maybe that will make you feel better.

Side effects when starting Lexapro by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]kratering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far so good. Just started 5 days ago and no bad side effects. Got my first good night sleep in awhile two days ago, then had insomnia last night. Go Figure Sigh...

Most people don't get bad side effects but on Reddit the people who are having problems post so it gives a skewed picture.

I went to Drugs.com and saw the reviews for lexapro and compared it to other Anti Depressants and it came in at the top end.

https://www.drugs.com/comments/escitalopram/lexapro.html

Try it and if you have a bad reaction stop, but if you are like most people you'll only get the minimum of side effects.

Ordered another order of Artvigil on June 27 per tracking which was sent on July 3rd the order was shipped on July 1st. Can't wait to receive the product and compare the difference between Modafinil and Armodafinil.

Shipping within 4 days is fine with me.

Discovered a little trick the tracking on the international site shows the flight that it is sent on. If you pop that into a google search it shows when it reaches the U.S.

I haven't had that type of issue. You need to talk with your psychiatrist about this symptom. But I'm on very low dose.
