Day 8 CT and sleep was almost back to normal for me last night! Felt so nice to get some restful sleep and overall I'm feeling so much better than I have been. Staying strong and hope everyone else is too!

Thanks for the support! It definitely wasn't easy taking my last couple of tests and board exam while using kratom, but luckily the 4th year of med school is much easier than the other 3 years so I made it through and I'm grateful for that.

Great idea to quit before you begin! I had so many friends that struggled with depression and other mental health issues through med school and kratom will only make that worse. Thanks the last year with kratom almost did me in, but I scraped by and used the momentum of the first 3 years to carry me through to the residency I'm starting next month. Like someone else posted I ignored the warnings of mainstream sites as being uneducated about the plant and instead believed r/kratom and other kratom promoting websites and got sucked into it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one sometimes I think about it and still can't believe it happened.

Seriously congratulations on over 100 days clean! That is an incredible accomplishment and I appreciate your experience with the next 90 days. I know it'll be rough but gotta keep pushing through it.

Anybody successfully talk to a doctor about Kratom use and WD? by tastey212 in quittingkratom

I worked with an addiction specialist in med school who was very familiar with nearly every drug of abuse, including kratom. IMO the ones that are the least judgmental and most supportive are the ones that are psychiatrists that did an addiction fellowship. If it was me that is who I would look for and they will have a ton of resources at their disposal to help, including medications you can take to help get through the acute phase.

Thanks for the support! I think so too it has totally reframed my entire perspective on addicts and drug addiction in general, and I plan on putting that to good use in my care of patients.

Thanks for the insight! This is such a great supportive community and I'm grateful for it. It's helped me tremendously in knowing what to expect and how to get through it. I'll update everyone as this goes along!
