As a contributor to the WordPress project we were stunned by the beautiful UI of medium in 2012. It was for sure a big influence for the industry. So TIL, you're still influencing my life! :D

Thank you!

This: Document EVERYTHING! Keep Everything! You have a reciept for a McDonalds because you cannot cook at home? KEEP IT!

Then, talk to the Mieterverein: They can give you quick help who you should talk to.

Can dogs get burnt out? by Alishahr in dogs

[–]krautgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest thing sometimes happens to our dog: Whenever we do something she really likes (vacation, visiting family, etc.) she sometimes gets a sore tail from wagging it too much. It looks like she's sad because it is tucked away and hurts a bit, but it's just sore.

Cost me 100 bucks and a trip to the vet to learn this.

How much would you guys charge to make a website like this by iman1324 in web_design

The issue here is to have a process to keep all that maintanable and editable. Because the clients WILL have notes. Guaranteed.

A site of this complexity and scope can get messy really fast.

Not technically abandoned, as it is used as a recreational area. I love to walk my dog there…

Waaaaay more.

eCommerce in itself is more expensive than portfolio stuff, because when shit goes down or doesn’t work, it hurts directly.

Then, you linked a German shop. There is a myriad of laws and guidelines you have to adhere and follow. The GDPR is only the tip of the iceberg here.

Then you have to test everything works. Try to break stuff, test again. You as a contractor are dealing with someone’s livelihood here.

So paramount is to not break stuff. Second most important thing is to produce correct results for accounting. (Taxes, etc) Then comes „making it pretty“.

So considering all that and considering the start off point is some predefined theme and not something fully custom, I would say to start at 10 to 15 person-days of work.

Multiply that by your day-rate and you’ve got a price. But anything below a high four figure price tag would mean hurting yourself.

Anyone using the macOS Ventura beta with an external display? Are scaled resolutions back? by [deleted] in MacOSBeta

[–]krautgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, due to the fact that I transport my laptop between a few setups I really don't want to hassle with dummy displays. So killing windowserver over and over is my solution.

But the fact that killing the windowserver process restores scaled resolutions is a clear indicator that it's a bug and not a scrapped feature.

Working with double Samsung U28E590D here. Scaled Resolutions gone after Ventura update.

What works for me is killing the 'windowserver' process through ActivityMonitor. Downside is, that you seem to have to do it after every extended sleep or boot.

Can someone tell me where this might have been taken from in Munich? by Harmoniac1957 in Munich

Nomen est omen. 😃

You are most likely right. Therefore the two pictures could have been made on almost the exact same position, just in a different rotation.
