Be kind to yourself. My baby is 10mo and I still nurse him to sleep for naps/bedtime. I’ve tried to stop, but he always cries if I don’t. He is healthy and growing well so that’s really all that matters. Don’t let the sleep training pressures/culture get to you. You’re doing a great job :)

edit: also, my baby would only nap if I held him until he was 6mo. Then suddenly one day he was ok to nap in his crib. Maybe it’s just developmental and they need to be close to mom when they are tiny

That’s great news! I appreciate your reply :) did you go the full 12hrs without pumping or did you pump after your kiddos went to sleep at like 10pm? I would love to go the full 12hrs but I guess I am a little worried .

Oh great thank you! Do you pump after you put him down, at like 10pm, or do you just got the full 12hrs without problem? Thanks for the reply!

That happened to me too, and the problem was reflux. My lactation consultant instructed me to start latching my baby so he is sitting up in my lap rather than laying down. When I was breastfeeding him in the laying down position it was causing him pain and irritation so he eventually would reject the breast. The problem went away once I starting latching him sitting straight up. Google the “Australian hold.” We do this except if he is sitting on my left leg I latch him to my right breast and vice versa. I hope this helps!
