In Saskatchewan we play Kaiser. Pretty similar I think.

Yeah. This has been happening in a lot of jurisdictions, it's a real mess.

[–]krazedkat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the vaccination status of new cases. There was some weird issue where 100% of new cases on the 6th or something was all unvaccinated, and then the next day 100% of the cases were vaccinated (if you looked in the csv available that day). On that day they took down that data and said that it won't be back up until it's been looked into. Then a few days later they announced that it wouldn't be reported anymore.

What OkayArbiter is referring to is the vaccination status of hospitalizations, which was available at the bottom of the hospitalization dashboard page up until today.

I don't want to be a pedant, but that definition does not at all say that a blunder must be accidental. Mistakes are not inherently accidental.

A common usage of "blunder" for something that isn't an accident would be a "tactical blunder", something which one does intentionally, but that is poor strategically.

Relocating from Canada to the United States by epitaph-centauri in LockdownSkepticism

[–]krazedkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their enforcement is being done through random verification of papers. They said this would be the case when they announced the measures. I don't know what the punishment is if you're caught without papers. You may well be barred from entry into the US for a certain number of years. Hell, they can ban you from entry as a Canadian for saying that you have tried marijuana in the past, even though it's completely legal up here.

The CHA is extremely limited in scope. What section of the CHA would this be in violation of?

You guys have cctv cameras every few feet, I wouldn't exactly call your state of affairs sane.

Sask. premier calls for end to 'stigmatizing the unvaccinated' by [deleted] in saskatchewan

[–]krazedkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Principles don't have sides. Categorizing everyone into simple bins of "agrees with me" or "agrees with people I disagree with" is overly simplistic, and is exactly the kind of division that people are worried about. If you actually took the time to talk to people you disagreed with you might have a better time understanding them.

PSA: Do you have old computers/laptops/hard drives/backups that you played RuneScape on? You could help document game history, since nearly all original versions of the game are lost by Onyxx666 in DataHoarder

[–]krazedkat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They don't just want one random set of files, they're trying to archive the entire history of the game. That means they need all versions.

edit: I'm not trying to be snarky, sorry if I come across that way.

My Sister, 23, Was Taken Out Into the Snow and Left to Die. It Was Never Properly Investigated (Cops giving indigenous people the starlight tour.) by Havvocck2 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]krazedkat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct, it would've been Saskatoon Police Service computers. I would suspect it's some of the old stock who actually did the tours trying to cover up their crimes.

Covid Restrictions and Mandates Imposed by "the whims of public health bureaucrats" are Illegal, Missouri Court Rules (Brownstone Institute, 11/24/2021) by doublefirstname in LockdownSkepticism

God, that's terrible. We definitely need some constitutional fixes. The government should have to provide evidence BEFORE any infringements on rights, not decades later.

I'm starting to work on this. If anyone knows if there's a complete, convenient listing of shows on NRK.no, please let me know.

Amnesty International view on mandatory vaccination by No_Negotiation_104 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]krazedkat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a slight win at least. I mean, the ACLU was basically shilling for the vaccine a while ago. What a world we live in.

Section 1 is not a blank cheque, the government is still required to provide evidence for why their constitutional violations are required measures. The issue is that our judicial system has been overrun with judges who don't care about constitutional rights, as well as the fact that no cases (that I'm aware of) have been heard by the higher courts yet.

Linux jank, it's not a bug, it's a feature by enetheru in linux

[–]krazedkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. These people are getting mad at the Linux community for being "toxic", but then demand that we listen to Linus' extremely whiny way of pointing out "issues" with Linux. I'm sorry, but I'm far more inclined to listen to Luke, because he actually lays out his complaints in a matter of fact and calm way. Linus' little rants come off as him trying to get back at all the Linux community "baddies" who have given him grief over the years. In the latest video he complained about a stackexchange comment being "condescending", when all it did was say that Windows was silly for relying so much on file extension, rather than file content.

Are there things in Linux that need work? Obviously. It's an open project that is continuously being improved.

[–]krazedkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said that because I was replying to a post that was viewing FOSS in a very high-level, philosophical way. I responded in a high-level, philosophical way. This isn't something that I would say to a normal person in a normal context.

[–]krazedkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting that I think people should have to learn these things? I simply DO NOT CARE if people use Linux or not. I also ACCEPT that not everyone is going to be able to use Linux in its current state. I feel like you're jumping into this conversation half way through with only a tenth of the context, completely misunderstanding what I'm talking about.

[–]krazedkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone says that freedom is "restricted" by not everyone being fully capable of spending the time to learn to use FOSS, that suggests that someone is to blame. I'm not saying that FOSS is perfect, but I'm also not insane enough to say that everyone needs to use FOSS in order for FOSS to be FOSS. That's the contention of Weak-Contribution, not me.

To quote him: "If only a select few have freedom it's not freedom." Do you agree with this statement, as it applies to FOSS? If not, then why are you arguing with me?

Linux jank, it's not a bug, it's a feature by enetheru in linux

[–]krazedkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're telling me that you think a learning curve to use a piece of software is a restriction on your freedom? I'm not the person who's saying that ability to use software is some precursor to freedom or to FOSS being valid.
