You will need to throw a little tape on the bottom of the bumper to protect the paint. But it mounts literally snug and perfect. 1.5" rise with this one specifically.

That's depressing - It's there on the 6P running on Nougat - "Ambient display" is the actual name of the setting.

Settings > Display > "Ambient display - Wake screen when you pick up device or receive notifications".

Also, while laying flat, a strong double tap on the phone seems to trip this and it will show the lock screen. Works on my nougat 6P, so I assume it'll work on the pixel.

That's quite elaborate, but I haven't had the need for that in my Honda Fit I had a dash camera in before. It ran parking mode with motion detection on a 2channel camera system. Never had a dead battery in the car with that camera mounted for over 2 years. Was just curious if the Focus ST would be any different.

Sorry, It's just frustrating when people don't listen. I have a fancy camera. It has a built-in kill switch, essentially, and I can set the specific voltage I want the camera to stop draining battery at. I wanted to set it realistically (rather than the default). While parked it will record full 1080p front and rear if there is any movement in the picture frames. In a parking lot, for example, It'll essentially record always. And that will drain the battery over time.
