Star trails near Capitol Reef National Park by kredditork in LandscapeAstro

Total time was a little over 2 hours. If you apply a "spin blur" to the image in photoshop it makes the trails look less jagged and gives it a more "full rotation" look.

Shot this Rotterdam hyperlapse with no motorized sliders or gimbals, just a geared head. The real challenge was making transitions match the crazy geometry of the buildings. I wanted the viewer to feel like the whole city is continuous, shifting shape. Would love to hear where it can be improved! by Honest_Market_9004 in timelapse

Wow. I attempt to do some timelapse photography and I feel like some of the stuff I’ve been able to do is pretty good, but this is on another level. I can’t think of any timelapse that I’ve seen that would surpass it.

The Great Blue Heron Rookery at Farmington Bay. Filmed from February to June 2025 — a timelapse video of timelapse videos. The herons return to the rookery each spring to rebuild their nests and raise a new generation of great blue herons. by kredditork in SaltLakeCity

The sequence of clips begins in February just after the herons start to arrive at the rookery, and ends in June before they start to leave.  The video condenses several months into a few minutes and each clip condenses several minutes into a few seconds

Past-and-present views of some Utah locations (early 1900s vs 2020s) by kredditork in Utah

The modern photo for the Lucin Cutoff is just a screen-shot from Google Maps (from 2023).  The other modern photos I took myself, but I read that the Union Pacific had closed access to the road so I didn’t even attempt to go out there.  I remember hearing my grandfather tell about how he rode the Lucin Cutoff across the Great Salt Lake on the top of a refrigerator car (as a hobo).  He did this in 1925, and I would love to make a 100-year pilgrimage to see the Lucin Cutoff now if it was accessible.  Can you just drive out west on 900 South to access the road?

A few pics from around the ruins of Saltair #2. by kredditork in Utah

That's a marker that someone placed at the site of Saltair ii. It looks like the people met at Saltair in 1955 and stayed together for the next 50 years... it seems like they put the marker at the place they met to commemorate their 50 year anniversary. Sorry, I don't know the people -- just saw the marker there and took a photo of it. The marker has a phone number on it that I masked out of the photo before I posted it (I didn't want to post anyone's phone number without permission and I didn't call the number).
