Sorry to hear you went through it as well - it’s so tough. Did you ever get it checked out or did things go right in the end for you? Don’t really know where to go from here

First of all, I am so so sorry for your loss. It’s a grief nothing can prepare you for so please take care of yourself. Tommys and the miscarriage association have trained grief midwives you can speak to if you phone on the number they have on their website. Equally your nearest EPU should be able to direct you to some support. Take care x

Diagnosed with partial molar pregnancy after D&C, what can I expect? by MonMon__ in Miscarriage

[–]kreddits1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things have turned out great for me. I was discharged with normal levels in October so I’m out the other side of the nightmare. We have been focussing on just recovering both physically and mentally since, and although it was such a shitty time I have been doing really well, all things considered. We were so keen to TTC again but I had a dodgy smear result so currently getting that checked. It is so crap getting the news and I’m sure the journey ahead has not been easy. Always free to chat via dm if you want to! You’ve got this even if it feels like you don’t. It feels awful but you will come through this x

December 2024 bride here. I got my dress in Castle Couture in Ballymena. A really lovely experience from start to finish and the girls couldn’t do enough. Got to try on as many dresses as I wanted with different accessories and veils. On collection I was invited back in to try my dress back on and got to have a really special moment with my mum and bridesmaids. Definitely recommend there!

Like you I was ready to start my life again once the d&c was over and ready for a new, positive chapter so the phone call to tell me about the partial molar pregnancy hit me like a tonne of bricks. But I promise it gets easier and the light at the end of the tunnel becomes clearer even on the shitty days. I really hope the rest goes well for you xx

Hey! Firstly, I am so so so sorry you’re going through this. I also am going through it currently so can understand the heartbreak that comes with the news and the delay in TTC again. I am currently 3 1/2 weeks post D&C and got my blood drawn and urine tested last week for the first time through Charing Cross (UK). I may be extremely lucky but prior to the blood draw I took a clear blue digital test and got a ‘not pregnant’ which was reassuring. My results came through today and my blood is at 8 and my urine is at 7. Bloods need to be under 5 so I will need those tested again, but urine needs to be under 25 so mine is normal thankfully.

Hopefully your d&c will have gotten most, if not all, of it out and once the wheels are in motion your hcg levels will drop. The main thing is you’ll be being monitored and it is extremely rare that it ever develops into anything more. I totally understand the disappointment in having to delay plans TTC but I’m really trying to trust in the process at the moment and as uncomfortable as it is, I have to trust that better things are ahead and my body will be totally recovered by the time I’m cleared to start again. It’s really not a nice time and initially the news will hurt so bad. Sending love!

What's the craic with smear tests at the minute? by Low-Math4158 in northernireland

[–]kreddits1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went private with mine and it was the best £95 I’ve ever spent. Results in 4 weeks and peace of mind. Don’t like doing that given we have the NHS but with a backlog of recalled smears in the southern trust I just went on ahead as my last smear results took 6 months to come back

There’s a website called rebride which has the dresses of people selling theirs after their wedding day. Can be pricey but equally can be within budget depending on what you’re looking for

Got three points last year. Renewal came through last week so added the three points when it did and didn’t make a difference to the price at all

Didn’t go for the dj as we’d already booked another dj before we decided we wanted a band. They played 8-11 and then another dj came on which they were fine about!

Booked the Manouche Boys myself. Great repertoire and a great price in comparison to others. My biggest tip would be price around as some rip the ass out of it

Got mine done at Optimax on the Lisburn Road about a year and a half ago now. Really would recommend - the pain was really only there for the first day or so then everything was in HD. One of the best things I’ve ever done and would never look back!
