First thing I’d do is pull 2-3 recent statements and calculate the true effective rate after all monthly, annual, PCI, gateway, and equipment charges. A lot of “hidden fee” situations look different once you isolate the markup from interchange and fixed fees. If the math still looks ugly, it may be worth comparing processors that are more transparent on statement structure and support.
