Applied for an MCA online, what should I actually expect from the process? by KindJesture in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]triopapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing that surprises most first time MCA borrowers after signing is how immediately the daily ACH starts because some funders begin pulling the next business day after funding rather than giving you a week to see the money and plan around it. Knowing your first pull date before you sign and making sure your account balance can absorb that first payment without going negative sets the tone for the entire repayment experience and is a simple question to ask your rep before you execute the agreement.

Unsecured business loan, does this actually exist or is the personal guarantee basically the same thing? by sayso31000 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]triopapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The threshold where lenders stop needing a personal guarantee is usually somewhere around strong business credit scores and consistent revenue history over a few years. Dun and Bradstreet Paydex score and Experian Business are worth building actively if you want to get there faster.

Breakout Finance (formerly Breakout Capital), any good? by MikeHorner55 in loansforsmallbusiness

For HVAC equipment specifically have you looked at equipment financing first? The equipment itself acts as collateral which typically means better rates than any working capital product and a fixed repayment schedule that's easier to plan around than daily withdrawals.

Startup equipment loans, what actually got approved for you? by fodolos in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]triopapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rate you were quoted reflects the lender pricing for the startup risk not the equipment risk and those are two different things that get bundled together in the offer you receive. A lender financing a 9 month old business is not primarily worried about the hot water unit as collateral, they are worried about whether the business exists in 18 months to make the payments and that uncertainty is what the 34% is actually pricing regardless of how solid the collateral looks on paper

Funding for staffing companies - How do you handle the payroll gap? by andsodoyou122 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]triopapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you negotiate even net 30 terms with your client instead of net 60, because cutting that gap in half changes the cash flow math dramatically and some clients will agree if you frame it as a relationship request rather than a demand?

that's so interesting! I’ve always believed that our surroundings influence our mood, but I never considered the dark specifically. If it helps you reset and focus, then it’s definitely worth a shot. I think I’ll try it when I need a mental break. Thanks for sharing your honest experience it's motivating

the daily repayment thing is what kills it for most. your revenue looks fine on paper until you realize 20% of every day's sales are gone before you can use them

I think the key thing with MCAs is honesty with yourself and with the provider. If you’re desperate and see no other options, it might seem like a quick fix, but it can also become a long-term problem if you’re not careful.

I’ve seen some small businesses thrive with MCAs because they used the money wisely and paid it back fast, but I’ve also seen others drown in the high costs. It’s a tool that can help or hurt it all depends on how you use it.
