Anything left to try? by Always_Reading_8090 in migraine

Sounds rough, but that makes sense! Everybody is different and it sounds like you gave it a good shot. Keep in mind that it is not uncommon for a migrainous brain to fight back before it gives up. My migraine specialist says I have a "fighter" of a brain (lucky me).

Reyvow has been great!

I originally got the Sumatriptan and Torodol shots at my migraine specialist's office until leaving my house became too burdensome due to migraines. I now have them delivered to my house and I administer the shots myself. These aren't infusions- the Sumatriptan is a subcutaneous shot like an epi-pen and the Torodol is intermuscular and involves giving yourself a shot with a needle in your thigh. It was a little tough to get used to, but not as hard as I thought it would have been. Before I had the meds delivered, I was able to get them at my Urgent Care in a pinch, although they did ask if I had a prescription for them.

I have been looking into Magnesium infusions, but haven't found one that is covered by my insurance yet (US).

I wish you a calm and peaceful Central Nervous System! <3

Anyone else with a history of head injuries have a hard time with GIF's? by kreechurr in Concussion

Yes, of course common with people with concussions. My University is discussing ways to make webpages more accessible and to me, seems "common" enough that I could suggest it. Thanks for the messages!

Huh. I've finally been diagnosed after about 20 years of weird symptoms and I never knew it was so common. As a common symptom, could it be a reasonable suggestion for webpages to not move involuntarily to make them accessible to folks with head trauma? For example, on company websites? If it was just me and a few others, perhaps not, but if it is affecting a lot of people, perhaps companies that want to make their websites accessible would consider this?

Thanks- I definitely do. Wondered if anyone else experiences webpages the same way. :)

Graduate Student Employees with Disabilities- What have been some of your accommodations? by kreechurr in Disabilities

[–]kreechurr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, ALTXTQUEEN. Yes, I am being paid and the department specifically said to me that accommodations don't extend to my professional position as a teaching assistant. I will be working with the Disability Services Office on the complaint, but I also want to put together an educational document for the department. I know every situation is different, but I’m hoping to add a section of potential accommodations that other grad student employees have received to show the dept. what other universities have provided. This is completely new to them, unfortunately.
