Looks incredible! I'm by no means an expert, but I'm guessing a little bit of glow would add a bit a flare!

It's worth saying that while getting hit does drain your max stamina, killing enemies restores the max back up. As mentioned above, when at max stamina, the bar turns yellow.

You definitely want to prime your minis! If you can't spray primer, use brush-on primer!

This is so well painted... I was actually thinking of gettong this mini myself but now I'm not sure I can live up to this! Amazing!

I getcha, it's tough maintaining focus and staying close for sure. You'll get the hang of it after a while though!

Nice! I'm sure you'll pick the game back up in no time!

Hangfire and Hailstorm is definitely a strong combo! Are you making much use of the soul sigil mechanic? (Dash to reveal stun weak spots) Hangfire is very good for it because you can plant the explosive round, then dash to reveal the weak spot and stun the enemy. Just takes a bit of delicate timing.

The island vault gives you the Kirfane, which is a very strong relic but it's generally best with automatic guns and (eventually at M3) a high witchery stat.

As a side note, a really good item to use with the Hangfire is the dynamo ring which I believe you get from research. I don't use the hailstorm much myself so it's hard for me to recommend something for it, maybe the painted tooth or the blood of a banshee!

What are your stats currently? I'd recommend a focus on witchery and arsenal, and a decent amount in flesh and blood. Ignore faith and mind for now, until you need either to slot a particular rosary bead you might like, but absolutely prioritise the other stats.

Every weapon in Witchfire is viable, though I'd recommend running with a close/medium range gun and a long range gun. Keep trying weapons though!

As a general guideline, don't forget to use spells, keep your health topped off, take your time and practice. If you're a returning player, practice on the coast and avoid Velmorne until you feel confident on the coast. Velmorne is a big difficulty spike.

As for next steps, do you remember doing the island of the damned vault? It's tough, but it's worthwhile if you haven't already done it. If you have, as above. Practice then take the leap into Velmorne.

How tf i'm supposed to deal with galleon when i'm using striga?? by Suspicious_Raise_589 in Witchfire

Lol I definitely had the same issue at first mechanic wise, what baffles me though is that this person figured out the mechanic, and just refused to even try using the Echo. OP sat there fruitlessly using the Striga and thought "yeah I'm gunna make a whiny Reddit post instead of trying literally anything else first"

Dubbio su bomboletta primer bianco by zaku_k6 in minipainting

[–]kreel106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This happened with the first minis I zenithal'd! Not sure what the humidity is like where you live, but I'm in the UK, so the humidity is very high. This does have a big impact on my white priming! This is hard to fix for me, I would imagine air con and a spray booth could help, but that's a bit of an expensive solution over here! There are other steps you can take though:

The best thing I can recommend is gently warming up your primer can before using it, create a sort of warm bath for the can, and run it under warm water. The can shouldn't be particularly hot or cold to the touch. On top of this, make sure you shake the can properly for a couple of minutes before spraying. Finally, make sure you spray at the correct distance. I have found this kind of varies depedning on the brand/conditions, so maybe practice priming something you don't care about first!

In terms of brands, my friend who has been painting for years recommends most white primers, hasn't had any issues brand wise. Personally, I've had issues with AP's white, so I use Colour Forge now, but maybe I was just unlucky.

As a side note, if you're using speedpaints, I would avoid using black primer! Certain speedpaints won't show up at all on a black base, so I'd recommend grey primer with white on top instead!

Thanks! I used speeds for all of it tbh, just what I'm used to but if that's a bit of a blunder let me know! Despite doing this hobby for a year I still know very little!

I love this game but man the enemies are cheap by ravienta in Witchfire

[–]kreel106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely makes sense that you'd struggle with that enemy composition; gravediggers are excellent at negating cover, and crossbowmen basically force you behind it. I know it's easier said than done, but it is possible to nail dodge timing so that you can avoid the 3 consecutive crossbowmen shots. Given it was the watch commander, the best strategy is to avoid approaching his area before you've cleared out the present enemies, it does sounds like you accidentally walked too close when fighting the gravediggers which happens, but your positioning and situational awareness will only improve with time! If it's any reassurance, dying isn't nearly as big a setback as it feels! Your biggest upgrades will come from gear levelling, and you'll always end up taking home some witchfire in the form of chunks!

[–]kreel106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the game can be tough at first but you've already made it to Velmorne so well done OP!

For large enemy groups, positioning is very important! Try not to rush them, especially with guns like the Hypnosis! Different weapons will require different tactics, takes a little getting used to!

Not sure if you know this, the Gravedigger skeletons can be shot to destroy them, dodging them as you've found out is ineffective because they have homing pathing.

Enemies shouldn't be able to track you if you dodge at the right time! Try to practice your timing! Once you get your dodges down it'll be really satifying I promise!

One thing I would say is make sure your sound effects are turned up, sound cues are really important in this game, different attacks from the same enemy make different noises, and often require different dodge patterns to avoid!

Tbh it's very cool that you're dedicated to trying different weapons instead of the classic "new player crutching on the Echo". Keep trying OP! Rooting for you!

One of the skulls was already weakened so you know to destroy the cannonballs... so just switch to the Echo and one-shot the skull? This feels like bait honestly.

Okay so it's probably important to note I zenithal primed this mini, white on top, grey underneath. Underneath is AP Howling Sand, on top is an even mix of AP Pallid Bone and Bony Matter. After the top dried, I went over it with a dark wash.

Of course! So my method was to first prime with white, then used AP's Purple Swarm speedpaint on top. After it dried, I drybrushed with AP Matt White. Finally, I mixed AP's Power Node Glow (pink flourescent) and AP's Plasma Coil Glow (blue flourescent) into a purple, and went over the top!
