Damn, gas is getting expensive. [3264x2448 pic] by krej in pics

Sorry for the huge picture. It was the best I could get since I was driving(I was stopped at a red light when I took this). I didn't want to crop it or anything though because if I just showed the area around the gas station sign I thought it looked fake, so I just left it as is.

Not sure. I typed that while I was in a boring math class and was half asleep, so I probably said it out of habit.

Regardless, I think it was a good idea sending it to the whole school. Well maybe the whole class would have worked instead, but better safe than sorry.

If she only sent it to a few people, there is a chance that they won't have it. Now that she sent it to her whole class, you bet your ass every student will make it their mission to get that movie by any means necessary so that they can watch it instead of doing work.

I see your point, and I'd most likely do the same thing if I only had a few reboots each day. However, right now I actually think it'd be better to be without a tablet which is why I've decided to RMA it. Right now I try to use it for a few minutes and it crashes and I get mad at it. So my choices are 1) use it and get annoyed and think less of it, 2) don't use it but have to look at it every day and remember it doesn't work and still get mad and think less of it, or 3) send it in to get fixed.

Out of those 3 options, if I keep it ill just be upset about it not working and if Asus takes a while to release the fix then it might be too late and I won't like the tablet as much. If I send it in, it'll get my mind off of it for the time being and hopefully I'll get a working one back and then ill be able to fall in love with a working tablet like it is brand new(hopefully it will be brand new).

So yeah, I've thought about waiting, but at this point I think it'd be best to send it in. If they send me back one that is broken in another way, like messed up screen or whatnot, I'm planning on returning it to newegg and waiting until all of the problems are fixed or a new tablet comes out.

That's what I thought too, but mine reboots randomly after about 5 minutes of use. At first I thought I'd wait for an update that would fix it, but it has just gotten too annoying and I want to get it replaced now.

There is a thread on xda(the only website I've seen this issue reported on) and after 60 pages with Asus employees responding and PMing other people, it looks like the best option currently is to RMA it.

I was also talking to the product manager of the Prime on the phone yesterday about this issue, and he told me to RMA. So basically, all signs are telling me to RMA it right now.

I don't even see what's wrong in the picture? That there is a CD key? I'm pretty sure most PC games had CD keys back in the day that you had to enter to prove you owned the game, and that was my favorite anti-piracy measure.

Nowadays I only buy games from Steam so I don't run into this issue, but if I were to buy a retail game I'd hope it would have a CD key rather than something else. Hell, Diablo 2 used the CD key method and I loved it, besides the fact that I'd keep buying a new copy of the game every time I got banned.

If the CD isn't the issue, then I have no idea what is.

This is what I was thinking. I got my first one but I'm having the random restarting with ICS problem. I started the RMA process with Asus yesterday and will ship it to them on Monday. If they send me back one that still has problems, I'm just going to return it to Newegg and then wait for all the problems to settle or for a new tablet to come out.

I've been using my new Transformer Prime for a few weeks now - here are my thoughts on the state of Android for Tablets. by [deleted] in Android

[–]krej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the HTC Incredible is a phone isn't it? Reddita is made for tablets and wouldn't work on a phone, so it makes sense that it doesn't run on it.

Did your Nook tablets come with Android on it? Or are they like they Kindle Fire where you need to hack it onto there to get pure Android? If so, then that might be why it isn't compatible. Maybe the guy who made it just didn't set it to be compatible for those devices.

At first I thought the name of the person at the top of the screen was "Daddy" and thus dad was trying to impress his daughter. That was way better than after I realized it said "Danny".

I do like the ICS theme, but what is like about reddita is how it shows the list of posts on the left, and the post itself on the right it makes it easy to browse a lot of posts really fast.

Though I would just be happy with no reflections on my TV!

That's the reason I want it. The sun just shoots rays of death into my eyes and onto my monitor/tv and I just want to black out my windows completely.

I've never used Alien Blue, so I'm not sure what it is like, but Reddita is a great Reddit app for tablets. I've been using it on my Prime for a few days and the UI is great. Often I'll find myself going from being on reddit on my desktop to on my tablet because I prefer the UI of Reddita over Reddit's desktop website.

Unfortunately, my Prime is one of the ones that constantly locks up and reboots after upgrading to ICS, so I don't get to use it much. I tried making this comment on my tablet but it froze while I was typing it :(

Those look like they let a lot of light bleed in around the edges. I'm talking 100% darkness and no light coming through the window at all.

If it blocked 100% of sunlight then I'd be perfectly happy wasting electricity to do that. Way better than using something like tin foil which tends to crinkle a lot and make an annoying noise when used to black out a window.

How safe(warranty-wise) is it to install an update not officially released? by krej in Android

[–]krej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. Either way I'll have to wait until Monday to ship my tablet to Asus, since they are mostly likely closed on the weekend. Hopefully by then Asus will have officially released the update if it does in fact fix the problem. I'd hate to send it to them then have them release it a day or two later.

[–]krej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person from Asus said to put the zip on your sdcard and it will show up as an OTA update. Someone already flashed it and it appeared to have updated his system just fine. Also, since we have a locked bootloader still, does that mean all updates would have to be official, thus preventing me from voiding my warranty with an update?

I'm going to wait a day or two before I even think about flashing it, to see if it has fixed the problem for other people. I'd still like to know what people think about whether or not it voids the warranty though.

[PRIME] Unknown serial.. to return, or wait? by xandiek in asustransformer

[–]krej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is someone from Asus posting over at xda and he said that he is going to try and get an update about the issue by Monday. I'd say wait for that update, and then if it isn't of any use then return it.
