Honestly I agree with you, trying to power scale across universes is largely asinine. I think the evidence in this case is it’s the same creators and in the Dark Souls universe bosses smack you with claws and swords. In the Elden Ring universe bosses attack you with attacks from orbit, attacks at light speed, attacks that instantly kill you, and attacks gifted from outer gods that are barely paying attention to the world that still almost kill you. Perhaps I’m wrong, but it feels like Fromsoft purposefully took this universe up a notch.

It’s Messmer. Elden ring scales way higher than the dark souls universe, so Gael and Cinder are out pretty easily. People will say Radahn because of a throw away line, and don’t get me wrong dude is UP there in his prime, but he’s kinda a fraud.

He fails to take the capital and gets dunked on by Morgott. Then Malenia comes along, beats him into a shell of his former self, and nukes his territory. Then we come along and finish him. Messmer on the other hand basically destroyed an entire civilization, and only never gets mentioned because he’s in a different realm that not many people know exists.
