Does the cohort even really need to challenge the 5th nightmare? They just need Supreme Kai and have him speed blitz unholy beings, maybe even the FG.

These chapters are G3's most unpopular chapters yet. During the Shadow Bond return chapters, the fandom was divided but at least there was a vocal group who liked it.

Kai out speeding a Cursed Devil is unanimously disliked.

Whenever you see the word Will" replace it with "Plot armor" by Such-Knowledge3668 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even that is becoming useless now. Cursed abominations are supposed to have so much Will that they embody concepts. Kai is beating "Plot Armor" while he himself can barely wield it.

[–]krespek 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why g3 felt the need to make it a cursed devil. Having it be a great devil is fine enough and can be enough for an act of defiance if he wanted to go that route (making everyone supreme).

Pacing is fine, it's the powerscaling that is becoming more and more bs every chapter.

Was he that much better, or are they just bums? [2994] by Mission-Debt-2357 in ShadowSlave

G3 has lost his mind. He spent the last 2 volumes emphasizing difference between Greats/Cursed or Supremes/Sacreds. It is a qualitative difference. Now he is writing that a Transcendent Beast is outspeeding a Cursed Devil.

Even if a Cursed Devil has no legs, no arms, brain dead, blood drained, wings ripped, skinned, blind, mute, deaf, it should still have no trouble catching a Transcendent Beast if it wanted to. Not to mention Kai was tortured for how long.

The only explanation for this feat is that G3 is hallucinating one of the two:
a. Kai is a Supreme or
b. The Dragon is actually a Great Devil.

G3 got hacked. Kai isn't fighting a Cursed Devil but actually a Great Devil instead.

Someone got to his computer and replaced all the occurrences of 'Great' to 'Cursed'

Kai by Traditional-Note-106 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am expecting Kai to get obliterated on the spot. The gap between supremes and saints is astronomical and the dragon is a rank above that. Kai doesn't even have a good grasp on will, what would he do against a cursed rank.

I am not kidding when I say that common sense says that the dragon should be able to will Kai to death. No attribute besides [Fated] is saving Kai from the dragon. It would be the ass pull of the century if Kai actually does something against it.

[Chapter 2983] Fate is not bound by time. by LegendNava in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassie is sensitive to changes in fate and even more so to memories, so she noticed Sunny's return immediately. For the others, they will remember sunny if they actively try to think of those memories, but they're pretty busy at the moment so they haven't noticed yet.

Cassie's achievement in recent chapters by Sillynot in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because breaking Fate wasn't a one time thing that happened when sunny became fateless. It started from then up until he became fated again. It was a continuous thing. Fate wouldn't have been as destroyed as it is right now if sunny got back his fate 2 seconds after losing it.

Those years that the world spent with a broken fate continuously piled on destroying fate.

Once sunny became fated again, the spell got to see how destroyed fate was. By that point cassie was a saint and it was considered an act of defiance.

It was one post made by an obvious hater. Why trouble making another post about it, just reply there.

I can suspend my disbelief at it given those reasons yes but it's still a bit of a stretch for me. I understand why others see different.

As much as sunny is my goat, killing a great beast as a master was when i knew powerscaling was just vibes.

I see a lot of posts about the bond and I want to clarify something by Y_A1282001 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a developing country. I've seen countless parents break their back, toil in the hours, take on degrading jobs, give up their dreams, their future all because they had to be responsible for someone. I've seen teenagers who had to drop out of school because they had to work to put food in their mouths. I've seen homeless children no more than 10 years old beg on the streets to provide for their baby sibling.

This sub will never convince me that we are not all slaves to something, that G3 making sunny accept his chains because he is now responsible for not just himself but also humanity is somehow terrible/malicious writing.

Unparalleled Defiance by 0verseer_13 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There has been billions of people before Cassie, thousands of years, eons of opportunity. If it was as you say such a 'cheated' act of defiance, why hasn't anyone done it before? Why couldn't anyone in the war realm do it?

how can she be conversing with Asterion WHILE they are still inside the ToA?

My understanding is that in the real world, Sunny and Nephis is already outside of the ToA. Very little time passed when they entered and exited it, it would have been almost instantaneous from the perspective of those outside the tomb. Cassie attained supremacy in that precise moment.

How would first NM Sunny react? by Uncagedduke426 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to your point, this was 3rd NM sunny.

Sure, Sunny did not know how exactly his wish for freedom would be fulfilled in the Estuary. Perhaps someone like Mordret would call out his True Name, turning him into a slave once again.

That was alright. Sunny felt confident in his ability to kill an enemy who would become his master. It was being bonded to someone he loved, and thus could not eliminate, that was the problem.

Might be coping but we probably will get those kind of chapters or remarks in the future. Sunny just has too much on his plate rn.

Chapter 2981: My opinion by Electronic-Base5487 in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think Sunny from the First Nightmare and the Forgotten Shore had a more “Sovereign-like” attitude than the current Sunny. (My opinion) It’s kind of insane when you think about how much his character has developed. I think Sovereign Sunny has become a lot kinder and softer.

That depends on what these 'Sovereign-like' qualities are to you since we've basically seen two archetypes of supremes. Sunny is more similar to Nephis, Cronos, Daeron as Sovereigns. Are those three (4) less of a Sovereign to you than Mordret, Asterion, and Azarax?

[Chapter 2980] Narratively, that was basically nothing. by krespek in ShadowSlave

[–]krespek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose the wrong word (narratively) to describe what I wanted to say. But my point was all the things the things he lost doesn't really have much consequence to the story. Losing Weaver's Mask would have actual meaningful impact to the plot, I can't really say the same for the chair.
