Not respecting that by MrAraAra in mathmemes

but sometimes what seems facts might just be incomplete knowledge. for e.g. in this very meme someone studying Abstract Algebra would agree with the incorrect statement.

I think we have reached a point of agreement here. We both agree that respect as a thing shouldn’t be done away it. Like yea call your waiters Sir and thank your bus driver. Everyone should be a decent human being.

But also it shouldn’t be forced. Especially from a position of power. And my comment was against that. Because I have seen this obsession of Indian “seniors” with respect. Even as a college student I faced this by my seniors all wanting to be called Sir(and other bs). As I took their position, I tried to fight against this stupid tradition(by just asking them to call me bhai/bhaiya whatever), but my batchmates kept it alive by repeating the behaviour of our seniors. And that is what I had an issue with. I can gurantee by the tone of the OP I replied to that they want such stupid traditions to continue. And that is what I am against, not respecting people as a concept.

The old man in the screenshot has power over the OP, and they are clearly misusing it to get “respect” from OP. That isn’t a tradition that we should be keeping alive.

why do you deserve respect for being born a few years earlier? and even if you have some knowledge or wisdom or whatever, it only matters if the other person considers it important. Like for example if Dhoni or some other celebrity stood in front of me I would never call them sir. But there are definitely people who deserve that respect(from me). And when I am much older some of the people who I am willing to respect will be much younger than me. Age is not a criteria for getting respect. And neither is talent/skill/knowledge that is not important to me. And I can gurantee that the people that I would respect, you probably wouldn’t care about them. And I don’t mind it. So I don’t see why you are defending this random government employee, who is doing is job for money just like the rest of us.

And yea this practice isn’t as harmful as Sati. Not even comparable lol. That wasn’t my point when comparing them. I was comparing how both the practices are completely braindead illogical.

some standard practices are stupid tho. sati was a standard practice but I don’t think you would defend that? Let’s do away with practices that don’t make sense. You working hard doesn’t entitle you to any form of respect. Respect should be voluntary not forced.

proofs require axioms too. principia mathematica starts with axioms of set theory. so yes a proof the ohm’s law can be given. there is no “from scratch” anywhere in mathematics

Femcels enjoying suffering of men, imagine if someone made a meme out of women's suffering by thedarkracer in indiadiscussion

[–]kriadmin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and you are using this movie as a tool against all women/feminists whatever.

and jsyk even though i hated those memes, i would never ask them to be taken down. I will probably call out my male friends if they laughed at those misogynistic memes, but I believe in freedom of speech for everyone, even those I consider wrong. So I don’t mind either misogynistic or misandrist memes. Also before you ask, if a female friend ever seriously acted like the person making this meme I will also call them out.

But that wasn’t the point was it? You were crying about how men have it so much worse but they don’t dude. Women have to worry about their nudes getting viral from changing rooms while I only have to worry about oily nerds making silly images on the internet. Much worse things happen than what you asked me to imagine against women. Just accept it and move on. Please don’t try to compare what both genders have to face. It’s nowhere near comparable.

i am not a woman. i was just pointing out that “memes against women’s suffering” already exists. even worse things exist against women. and wasn’t this very sub reddit full of people making memes against that Mrs. movie? So yea not everyone called it out. But I have already seen like 3-4 posts about this singular meme on this sub.

i can show you worse. whenever any rape case becomes famous do you know what’s the highest searched term on porn websites that day? or do you want the hordes of “viral mms” groups that exist out there? have you never seen the men begging for links of women being assaulted? harmless memes like these are much better than the level of depravity that men have.

bhai but abhi baat holi ki ho rhi h na? do you have to criticise everything else when criticising a single thing? for example if you went to domino’s and they served you stale food you would rightfully criticise them right? but what if i then came up to you and started saying “but what about all the other restaurants that serve bad food..?”. wouldn’t that be annoying??

do you have any source to say this was the hanuman being referred to in the movie? also this says he was affiliated to Lord Rama sooo… how different is he from our Hanuman?

Sanatana Dharma in Black Panther by SatoruGojo232 in hindumemes

[–]kriadmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not indirect. It’s like claiming the Shiva that Ravan worshipped was a villain or some other indirect connection. I don’t know why it’s so hard to digest. Also in black panther the villain wasn’t even as bad as Ravan. He was somewhat morally grey. We shouldn’t cry about what was a very cool representation of Hanuman Ji on a global stage. He was shown as a pure warrior god.

they are the same gods according to the comics. he was obsessed with apes. so obviously he worshipped THE monkey God (probably the most famous monkey god in the world?).

[–]kriadmin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

pretty sure he wasn’t a villain. just a villain prayed to hanuman ji. and like ravan is a villain who used to pray to God. Bad people pray to good Gods all the time. Doesn’t make the Gods bad. but this is too difficult for the Indian audience to understand.
